Priyanka is more active than Mayavati in UP. The latter looks more inclined towards saffron party

The anti Congress role of an undisputed leader of Bahujan Samaj Party Behan Mayawati in the context of Rajasthan crisis is being viewed as the one completely inclined towards the saffron party especially when the Congress party is already in the state of disarray n jeopardy after its young turk Sachin Pilot n 18 loyalist lawmakers raised rebellion against the current CM Ashok Gehlot.

After BSP leader Mayawati’s first threatening posture to teach Congress a befitting lesson n subsequently filing of petition in the Apex Court of India against the latter regarding manipulating all six BSP MLAs in Congress’s fold unambiguously gives an impression of her pro BJP stance hell bent upon seeing the Ahok Gehlot government’s fall, obviously meaning that if Gehlot falls then the BJP would come up.

The incumbent Rajasthan chief minister Gehlot who had already accused Sachin Pilot of hobbnobbing with BJP to demolish his government, has yesterday accused Mayawati too of helping BJP to topple his government in Rajasthan, allegedly fearing opening of old legal cases against her as the saffron party masters have allegedly misused premier investigation agencies like Enforcement directorate, Income Tax n CBI against him n his brother n close political accquaintances.

While addressing the press conference at the Fairmont hotel, Udaipur where more than 100 MLAs, probably 105, have been holed up since the last two weeks, Ashok Gehlot has openly accused BJP of possible horse trading saying that the money bidding has allegedly increased manifold after the date of 14 August was announced for a possible floor test by the governor Kalraj Mishra.

Not only this but the audio tapes of BJP leader Jain and a union minister Shekhawat including a rebel lawmaker of Congress Bhanwar Lal Sharma were also revealed on television news pertaining to horse trading n subsequent toppling of Congress govt. now under SOG investigation, the charges flatly denied by the BJP.

Gehlot accused that the toppling game by the opposition party BJP is still on in Rajasthan. Meanwhile, BSP supremo Mayawati’s all of a sudden hectic interest in the Rajasthan imbroglio filing petition against the Congress in the highest court of the country coupled with issuing whip to its 6 MLAs to vote against the Congress government in Rajasthan despite all the six lawmakers joining Congress clearly indicates that Mayawati wanted to impress the BJP leadership of creating bottlenecks for the Congress in Rajasthan psychologically n buying time to make this imbroglio more complex thus allegedly giving time to BJP to exercise its tricks n actions to encourage horse trading as charged by the senior Congress leaders n the incumbent Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot.

It may be recalled that the Bahujan Samaj Party has opened its account in Rajasthan Assembly in the year 1998 by winning two seats followed by another victory in 2003 winning another two seats.

In 2008 the BSP made a big jump by winning 6 MLAs n finally the same numbers in 2018. However, in 2003 assembly election it had won three seats.

What’s interesting here that in the year 2008 n 2018 its 6 MLAs ( altogether 12) had joined BJP making Mayawati badly furious n annoyed.

Moreover, the political relations between Bahen Mayawati and Congress had not been so very good since a long time especially in the context of Uttar Pradesh n had during the last assembly elections in this largest state never obliged Congress n instead preferred her ardent rival Samajwadi Party for a political tie up.

Some news analysts say that after Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi’s hectic political activities in Uttar Pradesh n bringing a new lease of life in Congress which once used to be defunct Mayawati’s activities have dramatically come down.

Her previous activities of protests n organisational revival from the grass roots have also witnessed a major decline.

She has become more comfort friendly believing in the politics of adjustments n manipulations ( JOD TOD KI RAJNEETI) rather than going for politics of struggle or resolving peoples’ grievances through struggle n protest movements as used to be the trend earlier.

During the Yogi Adityanath tenure in UP the way Priyanka Gandhi had been active on the ground as well as on social media including twitter Mayavati has performed very complacently say political analysts.

In addition to this the issues of Ram Mandir n Priyanka Gandhi’s political activeness has made her cadre and vote bank turned towards the Congress as well as the BJP in the name of Ram Mandir construction.

There are also rumours that she is apprehensive of the old cases registered against her n party likely to rake up in case she goes against the saffron party and the statement of Rajasthan’s incumbent CM Ashok Gehlot proves home the point.

While blaming Mayawati of wrongly filing the cases against the BSP MLAs joining Congress Ashok Gehlot said that no provisuon of the anti defection law go against the BSP lawmakers or Congress as all of them had joined the latter. As per the anti defection law 2/ 3 rd majority or more are permitted to join other party safeguarding their assembly or parliament membership.
