The union minister for education Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank today exhorted the PhD and post graduate students of Hemvati Nandan Garhwal University advising them to prove their mettle by virtue of their hard n dedicated efforts as they have tremendous challenges and questions before them.

Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank was on Tuesday virtually addressing the convocation ceremony of Hemvati Nandan Garhwal University, Uttarakhand, from his Shastri Bhawan office in New Delhi, as the chief guest and main speaker.
Addressing the PhD n post graduate students while dwelling on the significance of Himalayas in the maintaining the ecology n environment and overall welfare n wellbeing of the mankind, union minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank emphasised that the Himalayan universities should centralise and focus it’s research on in-depth Himalayan studies in order to significantly contribute in the development of the mankind.
He added : in Himalayas there is biodiversity, there are variety of flora n fauna here, Himalayas are full of mineral resources, It’s the first school of environment and it’s infrastructure is wonderful. There is tremendous need for an in-depth research and studies on Himalayas said union minister Dr. Pokhriyal.
While equating Swami Vivekananda with Himalaya union minister of education Dr. Pokhriyal said that it was the towering Himalaya that led to him achieving the status n name of a towering personality of Swami Vivekananda from Narendra.
Speaking on the exodus of people from Uttarakhand villages to plains union minister Dr. Pokhriyal said : Himalayas can be extremely effective in discouraging migration. Himalayas are not only favourable n welfare oriented to Uttarakhand n its inhabitants but are to India as well as the entire world said Dr. Nishank.
While expressing his immense pleasure n proud privilege for being the student of HNB Garhwal University, union education minister Dr. Nishank expressed optimism that the university will play a pivotal role in the implementation of the new education policy. This policy is a highly significant document of Atma Nirbhar Bharat and several countries of the world are not only commending it but are also curious to implement in their own countries as well added Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.
Lauding the new education policy saying that it’s based on the principles of VASUDHEVA KUTUMBKAM and true human values, union minister of education Dr. Nishank said that not only will it provide massive employment in the country but also help in establishing world peace.
The Chancellor of HNB Garhwal University Dr. Yogendra Narayan lauded union minister’s speech and introduced him as a popular author of 75 books who had not only brought out a new education policy but has also been felicitated by umpteen honours n awards in India n abroad as well.
The Vice Chancellor Dr. Annapurna Nautiyal too lauded the contribution of the union education minister in Namami Gange project, sparsh Ganga and sparsh Himalaya Abhiyan etc apart from his countless contribution to the society as an academician and a politician.
