Miss you Papa: Chirag Pawan

A towering leader of Dalits in the country, union minister RamVilas Paswan breathed his last on late Thursday evening after a heart surgery conducted on him few days ago. He was hospitalised for the last few weeks due to his abnormal health suffering from multiple health complications . His son Chirag Pawan has tweeted today :

Papa ….. Now you are not in this world but I know wherever you are,you are always with me.
Miss you Papa, he tweeted with his picture of childhood in his father’s lap embracing him.

Ram Vilas Paswan had been the union minister for several years with his political career spanning five decades as one of the most popular leader of the down troddens and Dalit community hailing from Bihar.

His son Chirag Paswan who is the Lok Jana Shakti party chief had tweeted earlier informing about his father’s abnormal health condition , admitted in a Delhi hospital.

He had tweeted then : For the last many weeks dad is getting treated in a hospital. Due to some sudden developments on Saturday evening, surgery of his heart had to be conducted in the late night. If the need arises, then possibly after a few weeks another operation might be conducted.

Thanks to all for standing by me and my family in this hour of struggle.

He played a vital role during the tenure of late P M. Vishwanath Pratap Singh backing him fully during the implementation of Mandal Commission recommendations evoking national outrage by the upper caste classes.

The president Ram Nath Kovind tweeted that in the demise of Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan the nation has lost a visionary leader who was among the most active and longest serving members of parliament being the champion n voice of the oppressed and the marginalised classes of the society. He was a firebrand socialist youth mentored by legendary leaders like Jai Prakash Narayan during the anti Emergency movement . He had the enviable rapport with masses and he ardently strove for their welfare. Condolences to his family n supporters tweeted President of India

Prime minister Narendra Modi terming the untimely sad demise of Union minister as his personal loss tweeted : I am saddened beyond words. There is a void in our nation that will perhaps never be filled. Shri Ram.Vilas Paswan Ji’s demise is a personal loss. I have lost a friend, valued colleague and someone who was extremely passionate to ensure every poor person leads a life of dignity.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi in her tweet wrote: Saddened to hear about passing away of Ram Vilas Paswanji. May his soul rest in peace.

Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi while terming Ram Vilas Paswan as the true and strong voice for the poor n Dalit classes of the country tweeted : The news of the untimely death of Ram Vilas Paswanji is quite shocking. The poor n Dalit classes of the society have lost a true n powerful voice. My deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
