Meals served to construction workers and marginal sections’ on Rajesh Khanna’s 78 birth anniversary

The 78th birth Anniversary of the first ever n original superstar Rajesh Khanna aka Kakaji was celebrated by his die hard fans and colleagues with their families and friends despite the ongoing pandemic at Chanakyapuri, behind Jesus Mary College at the premises of ” The Rajesh Khanna Treat (Stall) observing the necessary precautions today, by not only cutting a magnificent cake and paying the richest floral tributes to the first and original super star of the country Rajesh Khanna aka Kakaji but around five hundred people of the underprivileged sections living in the nearby localities, construction workers and their families were also served delicious lunch as done every year by commemorating the superstar and former member of parliament’s death and birth anniversaries, twice a year on 29th December and on 18th July.

Despite the Corona times, good number of Kaka’s fans and well wishers had attended the function including relatives, friends and near ones of Vipin Oberoi, Kaka’s closest admirer, with Sunil Negi, Kaka’s media advisor, Romesh Sabarwal, Deepak Arora, whom the superstar and MP considered his younger brothers at the vicinity of “The Treat food stall” situated in the diplomatic embassy area, behind Jesus and Mary College in Chanakyapuri.

“Rajesh Khanna The Treat” Food stall is situated here since more than two decades and was Kaka’s idea to financially strengthen Vipin Oberoi by getting it allotted by the NDMC authorities while he was the member of parliament from New Delhi defeating the Bollywood actor Shatrughan Sinha after giving a strong political fight to BJP stalwart Lal Krishna Advani in the very first election in 1991 though losing by a small margin of just 1500 votes.

Rajesh Khanna used to very often visit this delicious food stall ” The Treat” owned by Vipin Oberoi which was inaugurated by Kaka himself with quite a fanfare. The super star used to dine here occasionally while in Delhi having special charm for the ” The Treat’s “, delicious non veg delicacies, also supplied to his Sarvapriya Vihar house in Delhi umpteen times.

Rajesh Khanna’s closest ally in Delhi Vipin Oberoi and his family had been always organising the event of Kakaji to remember him and pay their richest tributes to the towering superstar every year on his death and birth anniversaries serving free lunch to the poor, needy and the downtrodden and those who come here to pay their homage to Kakaji.

Vipin’s immeasurable love and affection for the first Superstar of Bollywood can be gauged from the fact that his food stall is fully fitted with colourful photos of Kakaji in various sizes and a big LED always exhibiting his visuals of super hit songs entertaining his customers from evening to late nights every day.

On Kaka’s birth anniversary a mesmerising musical evening with singers singing Kaka’s super hit Kishore Kumar songs are performed entertaining his fans and also paying a musical tribute to the first superstar of the millenium.

It may be recalled that popular super star Rajesh Khanna has acted in about 225 movies with being hero in 175 movies and giving back to back 15 super duper blockbusters from 1969 to 1972 setting a historic record never broken till date even after five decades. He was indeed a super star unparalleled never ever to be forgotten from the hearts and minds of his millions and millions of fans nationally as well as globally. Prominent amongst those who paid their richest tributes to Kakaji on his 78 th birth anniversary were Romesh Sabarwal, Deepak Arora, Vipin Oberoi, Sunil Negi, and Goldi among others.

It may be recalled that during the lockdown and even afterwards from april till now “Rajesh Khanna The Treat” has distributed more than a lakh food packets to the poor construction workers and their families including masks etc when many of them had become unemployed.
