Kejrival announces reduction in Diesal price by 16.75% in Delhi

After giving good news about bringing the the Covid 19 cases in Delhi under control including its recovery rate crossing 80% mark few days ago, the Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejrival has made yet another good announcement for Delhites today by lowering the rates of Diesal in the capital.

While addressing a virtual press conference today Delhi CM Kejrival lowered the value added tax (VAT) on Diesal by thirty percent making the Delhites jubilant.

The Diesal price of per litre will now be rupees 73.64 instead of Rs. 81.94. The reduction is to the tune of 16.75%. The Delhi cabinet chaired by the chief minister Arvind Kejrival today took the decision unanimously, bringing down the Diesal prices to Rs. 73.64 from the earlier rate of Rs. 81.94 per litre.

In the midst of spiralling crude oil prices by the union government several times across the country since coming in power for the second term, annoying the consumers, this relief of 16.75% is indeed commendable say commuters.

The recent hike in Petrol n Diesal prices has not only earned the wrath of commuters all over the country by protests by opposition parties nationally the Diesal prices has for the very first time crossed the petrol prices in several states including in Delhi.

WHAT was most disheartening is the fact that while during the pandemic lockdown the price of Diesal in Delhi on June 1st was Rs 69 n by the end of the month it was raised Rs. Rs 80 making everyone worried.

The lowering of the VAT on Diesal in Delhi by chief minister Arvind Kejrival is being commended all over. Now it remains to be seen whether the state’s run by the BJP governments also follow suit n lower the prices of Petrol n Diesal to relieve commuters of rising prices of Petro products ultimate leading to inflation or keep mum.

Just yesterday he had assured Delhites of improving the 500 kilometre Delhi Roads making them of European standards. He had asked PWD officials to submit him the details of the prospective plan in this regard.
