Harish Rawat again appointed general secretary n CWC member with Punjab’s In-charge. Yadav new In-charge of Ukhand !

The former chief minister of Uttarakhand, general secretary of All India Congress Committee and member of the highest decision making body CWC Harish Rawat has again been appointed as the party general secretary by Congress president Sonia retaining the CWC membership alongwith the significant responsibility to look after the organisational affairs n functioning of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee. He was earlier the In-charge of Assam state Congress affairs.

Harish Rawat’s reappointment as the senior most national General Secretary of Congress after young Mukul Wasnik as number two in the hierarchy alongwith seven other general secretaries with the organisational charge of an important Congress ruled state of Punjab whose chief minister is Captain Amrinder Singh unambiguously speaks of the fact that Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Rahul n Priyanka are all happy n satisfied with Harish Rawat’s performance who despite becoming an octogenarian has been quite active in touring states of Uttarakhand and Assam n holding party meetings actively interacting with the workers n leaders in his efforts to rejuvenate the party to the utter satisfaction of the high command.

APART FROM HIS REAPPOINTMENT AS NATIONAL GENERAL SECRETARY of AICC retaining the CWC membership n being made the In-charge of Punjab what’s significant is that Rawat has also been successful in getting his old time leutienant n a Delhi Congress young Turk a former MLA from Delhi appointed as the In-charge cum observer of Uttarakhand, his home state, in place of Anugrah Narayan Singh, the previous chief observer n In-charge from where he was the chief minister.

Devendra Yadav, In-charge Uttarakhand Congress

It may be recalled that a veteran Congress leader having started his political career as a Gram Pradhan during the seventies n later on elevated to the position of the union minister twice n thereafter CM of the state in 2017 having been the Vice Chairman of all India Sewa Dal Harish Rawat still aspires to be the chief minister of Uttarakhand and is extremely mobile n associated with the state’s organisational affairs including touring Garhwal n Kumaon regions in addition to his central responsibilities as the General Secretary of AICC n member CWC.

Rawat n the Uttarakhand’s current president though minister under his CM ship in Uttarakhand earlier Pritam Singh are at loggerheads since long though from the same party. Sources reveal that after today’s new appointee from Delhi as Uttarakhand Congress’s In-charge, he will be able to adjust his own people in the state organisation presently packed with Pritam Singh’s henchmen.

The elections of Uttarakhand assembly are due in 2022 after one n a half year with chances of Congress looking bright as per the trend of CHANGE in the hilly state after every assembly election giving preference to the next party. Moreover, the people in Uttarakhand are fed up with the BJP’s rule opting for change at all costs say political analysts.

IN view of this Harish Rawat despite being party’s national general secretary is eying on becoming the next chief minister of the state for the second time and for this he is right from now trying to fix his loyalists in the state organisation to generate his influence and grip to get hold of the organisation n future political prospects.
