Global Investors Summit to be virtually inaugurated by PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the “Invest Madhya Pradesh-Global Investors summit” on Wednesday via video conferencing. The theme of the event is “Madhya Pradesh-The Future Ready State.”

Is informed officials that after the inaugural address by the prime minister of India, Guyana President Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali and Suriname President Chandrikapersad Santokhi will also address the meeting virtually. Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal will also attend the event.

As per official communication from event organizers, 447 international delegates from 84 countries, 401 international buyers, more than 5,000 industrialists and representatives of various international industry associations, and representatives of all G20 countries will participate in the event.

Invest Madhya Pradesh: Global Investors Summit is the flagship biennial investment promotion event of the Department of Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion, Government Madhya Pradesh. The 7th edition of the Invest Madhya Pradesh – Global Investors Summit is hosted by the state of Madhya Pradesh on January 11th and 12th, 2023, at the Brilliant Convention Centre, Indore. This two-day event is planned to showcase the investment climate and industrial infrastructure in Madhya Pradesh and offers opportunities for future collaborations with interested investors. This event will act as a platform where global leaders, industrialists, and experts will come together to share their views on emerging markets/trends and propose ways to harness the investment potential of Madhya Pradesh in contemporary times.

A day before, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan hosted a dinner for the NRIs who had arrived for the ‘Pravasi Bharatiya Divas and urged them to participate in the Global Investors Summit too. He called them ambassadors of Madhya Pradesh and asked them to invest in Madhya Pradesh and inspire others. He further urged the NRIs to explore MP, the tiger land, and the Cheetah land of India.

However, ahead of the GIS in Indore, ex-CM Kamal Nath asked how many proposals received in the past 18 years resulted in actual investment in the state. He criticized the ruling party for only making speeches and issuing advertisements without doing any real groundwork.

In response to MP congress chief comments, state BJP spokesperson Pankaj Chaturvedi claimed that an investment of ₹1.75 lakh crore was made in the state during the last six investor meets, and four lakh job opportunities were created. He further took a jab at Mr. Nath and asked about investment statistics during his tenure as CM.
