Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha loses it dedicated n committed president MS Rana due to cardiac arrest

Terribly shocked to learn that we’ve lost yet another closest friend, a renowned social and trade union activist of the then Delhi Electric Supply Undertaking ( DESU), a down to earth human being and above all an extremely active president of Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha Delhi, the biggest social organisation of the capital formed in 1953, Mohabat Singh Rana. He breathed his last yesterday night due to massive cardiac arrest.

His untimely n sudden death spread like a wild fire in Delhi especially amongst his friends n well wishers including inhabitants of Uttarakhand living in Delhi n Uttarakhand. He was given the last n final adieu by his anguished family, relatives, friends n GHS at Nigam Bodh Ghat consigned to flames in the morning.

This untimely shocking death of Rana is indeed a very personal loss for me and to several others as Rana was loved, respected and adored by one and all in Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha and the socio political n cultural circles of Delhi.

During his tenure as president of Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha lot of pro people work and positive intiatives were taken giving a new impetus to this largest and oldest social organisation of Uttarakkhandies in Delhi.

It was because of the efficient Mohabbat Singh Rana as president of GHS and his dedicated n committed team that the general house of GHS has unanimously accorded them an extention of another term which speaks of his popularity n adoration among the fellow Uttarakkhandies.

A soft spoken but a dashing leader Mohabbat Singh Rana worked in DESU and was a popular trade union leader there, relentlessly fighting for the rights of DESU employees.

His entire life was dedicated in social service and it was after his retirement that his wish to represent Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha was fulfilled after he was elected with maximum support of his well wishers to whole heartedly serve the Uttarakhandies in Delhi.

The GHS n Uttarakhand Journalists Forum extend their deepest condolences n heartfelt tributes to the bereaved family n the departed soul praying to Almighty to render peace to him and enough strength to the aggrieved family to bear this most irreparable loss.

Rana’s departing on the eternal journey has left a deep void in the social circles of Delhi n Uttarakhand difficult to be filled in the years to come.
