First ever 25 kilowatt electricity generation plant opens at Uttarkashi’s village

THE FIRST EVER PINE NEEDLES’ PLANT STARTING WITH twenty five kilowatt electricity production capacity using the pine needles is being commissioned in Uttarkashi formally, the trial of which has been successfully done today.

This would be the first ever unique ELECTRICITY generation plant in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand using the pine needles which are in abundance in entire Uttarakhand and till now of no use, rather playing a destructive role in terms of spreading MASSIVE jungle fires during the summer season on a massive scale thus resulting in heavy loss of lives, flora n fauna of Uttarakhand.

It may be recalled that jungle fires in Uttarakhand are the common features especially during the peak summer season of May, June due to various reasons with pine needles in abundance spreading it further converting it into widespread wild fires claiming several lives of animals, n damaging flora n fauna.

More over these pine needles also make the lands barren due to its acetic contents leading to conversion of hundreds of thousands of acres of agricultural lands into barren fields of no use.

According to the people associated with this project being financed by the banks n government of Uttarakhand such new electricity generating plants using Pine Needles will not only create a new revolutionary avenue of electricity generation for local irrigation projects n other related uses but will also provide employment to the women n youths of the villages at the decentralized level. The women n youths interested to collect Pine Needles on daily basis n supply it to these electricity generation plants can associate themselves in this project n earn six hundred to seven hundred rupees daily by selling Pirul/ pine needles @ of Rs four per kilogram. In addition to this they will also be employed in the plant earning sufficiently for the sustenance of their families.

The stock of pine needles to be used to produce electricity

The first ever PINE Needles ( PIRUL) Power plant has been completed today in Chapon village of Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand to be inaugurated by the chief minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat. This being an extremely significant initiative in view of such electricity generation plant environment friendly , there would be hundreds of other plants on mass scale in Uttarakhand thus generating electricity on massive scale locally but will also open doors for the local populace on a mass scale which is a heartening sign of peoples’ progress n prosperity.

IT MAY BE RECALLED THAT the pine trees had been planted in abudance by the British during the pre independence days with the sole purpose to use timber and Tar gum extracted from it for minting heavy profits. These trees were given to contractors every year to extract Tar from these trees n also use the timber selling them outside the state’s minting heavy profits.

However, the worst part of this pine tree was the pine needles that fall in large quantity n their seeds as well which not only make large tracts of lands n farms barren but also give birth to more n more trees apart from massively spreading the wild jungle fires during the summers killing the animals, insects n even carnivores thus destroying the flora n fauna.
