“Earth still looked beautiful”, says Nasa astronauts from space on John Krasinski’s show.

The former Office actor, John Krasinski has started a new digital show called “Some Good News”. The intent behind this recently started show is to provide some positive news amidst the grave pandemic situation. This will help lift  the spirits of thousands of people around the world. 

But the Tuesday show on April 21 was something special. It saw three Nasa astronauts, currently living in the International Space Station (ISS), sending a video that said that the Earth was still beautiful. 

Jessica Meir, one of the three astronauts, was the one who first shared the video on Twitter. She, just like Krasinski, is also an alumnus of Brown University.

Later, Nasa was also seen sharing the video on their official Twitter handle and tagged Krasinski in it, it read,” Yes, John Krasinski, that just happened! 250 miles above our home planet, a few of our Nasa astronauts shared Some Good News: ‘The Earth is still beautiful’.”

At the start of the video, Krasinski is seen sitting on his desk and describing a remarkable thing that happened. He goes on to describe that joy wasn’t just confined to the earth now, it went all the way out into space.

This scene then moves on to focus on three astronauts in the International Space Station. They are seen showing the interiors of the space station and how the Earth looks from space. They further mention that now there has been a continuous presence of humans in the station for two decades. The astronauts also go on to describe their daily routine and how they spend their days in the space station. Besides, two of the three astronauts are also excited to go back to their families on earth very soon. 

In the video, the astronauts also showed how easy it was to do a backflip there without the presence of gravity. Lastly, they end the video by showing the Earth once again and commenting that, “The Earth is still beautiful. An Earth in crisis is still worth returning to.”

The video became instantly viral on social media and was shared multiple times. 

The video was regarding Earth Day, which is celebrated annually all around the globe on April 22. Earth Day this year marks its 50th anniversary.
