Covid 19 cases cross 13,566,834 numbers with 5,93,599 fatalities globally but vaccine still to take time ?

While India has witnessed more than nine lakh n fifty thousand cases of dreaded Covid 19 infections with nearly twenty five thousand fatalities the race for inventions of vaccines have also enhanced simultaneously. But it’s still a distant dream with just assurances.

However, trials on animals n human beings are on, worldwide with countries like United States of America, Russia, Brazil, United Kingdom, several European countries n India etc announcing its early arrival in the world market but no country has till yet given a definite date.

USUALLY such vaccines take nine to twelve years to finally arrive in the market as it requires prolonged tests n clinical clinical trial in several phases observing the short n long term side effects n implications including time taking processes of R n D n manufacturing billions of doses but keeping in view the rapid surge of Covid 19 cases n the subsequent deaths worldwide, the serious efforts to device these anti Covid medicines on a wide scale expeditiously are going on for the last several months with recent announcements by Russia, India, UK, Brazil n the United States of America etc.

If we peep into the horrible surge of Covid 19 pandemic on a global scale – till today there have been massive surge of 13,566, 834 cases of Coronavirus infections with 5,83,559 fatalities beyond anybody’s expectation, with United States of America being the worst sufferer, followed by Brazil n India.

Just yesterday the USA president Donald Trump had tweeted very enthusiastically about two Covid 19 vaccines likely to be invented shortly without naming them.

THE TWEET WAS: GREAT NEWS ON VACCINES. According to news reports published in various newspapers quoting Reuters, Bloomberg n other sources that there have been positive news about successful initial trials of the University of Oxford’s potential Covid 19 vaccines likely to be revealed on Thursday.

According to a report published in today’s HT under the title : Vaccine Boost, “Two front runner a step closer” , it has been disclosed that a Biotech firm Moderna on Wednesday sparked optimism by saying that the initial tests for its vaccines were a great success n this development came on the day when the US president Donald Trump jubilantly tweeted : GREAT NEWS ON VACCINES.

The report further adds that though the US president did not elaborate on what he referred to as great news, the UK drug giant AstraZeneca which got licensed for Oxford’s potential vaccine, recently secured a $1.2 billion contribution from the US for the development, production n delivery of its potential shot starting this fall. Oxford’s potential vaccine is in large scale phase three trial though the results of phase one are still awaited.

The results after clinical trials on 45 human beings have shown results of clean safety and immunogenicity says the report. Moderna revealed that it will be in the final stage on human trials for its Covid 19 vaccines on July 27.

The report further adds that Moderna Inc’s Covid 19 vaccine produced anti bodies to the corona virus in all the patients tested, in the initial safety trials thus clearing an important milestone as the US continues to grapple with a surge in new infections.

Similarly Russia too announced regarding the successful human clinical trials of a Covid 19 vaccine invented by its SECHENOV University while in India the Drug Controller of India has given a go through to its Anti Covid vaccine Itolizumab for clinical trials which is likely to be in the Indian market in the near future. The Covaxin anti Flue medicine is also being further improvised for countering Covid 19 pandemic.

Around 150 companies are working expeditiously around the world to develop anti Covid vaccines the results of which are expected next year. Though there are several claims of these vaccines’ early arrival as well but not a definite time frame announced till date.

However, in India while several anti flue medicines viz Covaxin, Remedisivir, Hydroxylchrolquine etc are being quite supportive there is massive consumption of Herbal/ Ayurvedic medicines as immunity boosters at the pan India level like Giloi, Tulsi, black pepper, lemon, aswagandha, Aluevera etc etc.

There is a huge market in India for naturopathy ,Ayurvedic medicines which has wide acceptability after the eruption of Covid 19. Having no side effects these Herbal medicines are used as best immunity boosters consumed on daily basis by wide population.

The popular sage and Yoga guru Baba Ramdev of Patanjali Yogpeeth n the MD Acharya Balkishan along with with a Jaipur based company have recently invented a medicine claiming it to be the effective Covid 19 killer creating quite a sensation in the country. After tremendous controversy the Patanjali Yogpeeth’s kit was allowed to be sold in open market as an immunity booster n not as Covid 19 killer medicine.

However, despite its not being given the status of anti Covid 19 medicine known as Divya Coronil consisting of a kit of ” Divya vati, Swasvari n an oil”costing merely 545 Rupees per kit, guaranting immunity enhancer to counter Covid 19, it’s being sold in abundance in India with its being out of stock in several states. This medicine is being sold through Patanjali’s stores at the pan India level.

However, in some states this Ayurvedic medicine is in such a high demand that the clever sellers / businessmen have stocked it in large scale and are selling them at Rs. 1800 per kit which actually costs only Rs. 545. As per a Deccan Chronicle news in Hyderabad the police has raided several godowns of Divya Coronil being sold thrice the actual price minting heavy profit. The medicine is in heavy demand as Baba Ramdev of Patanjali Yogpeeth allegedly got a widespread publicity through all the television news channels when he claimed it to have been 100 percent successful in 280 Covid 19 patients during its clinical trials. People are buying several kits at Rs 1800 per kit thinking that it may go out of stock. They consider it as the most effective anti Covid medicine especially when there is no availability of any medicine or vaccine in Indian Pharmaceutical market say the patients.
