CM Kejriwal asks private hospitals to admit and treat Covid 19 patients. Warns of severe action

The Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejrival today strongly warned few private hospitals of Delhi who are openly defying the Delhi government orders and not treating and admitting Covid 19 patients in their hospitals despite availability of enough beds. Terming them as Mafia Kejrival said that these hospital management n owners are being summoned by the Delhi government and being instructed to admit n treat Covid 19 patients in their hospitals or face the severe consequences. Some of these hospitals are also not reserving 20% beds to the poor and economically deprived catagories suffering from this pandemic n they have been warned that if they don’t adhere to government directives they will have to convert the entire hospital as Covid 19 hospital. CM Kejrival was today addressing a virtual press conference today.

He said that during a TV programme a private hospital was openly caught telling a lie and denying addmission of Corona patient, finally agreeing if the patient agrees to pay Rs. 8 lakhs. Arvind Kejrival saluted those hospital management n owners who are serving the Covid 19 patients earnestly and agreed that majority of the private hospitals are doing their best but 2 to 4 hospitals are minting huge money and defying the government directives. He added that these mafias’ are well connected politically till the top but warned them that they should mend their ways as they were allotted lands at throw away ( cheaper prices) by the government, not to earn huge profits but to serve the humanity. He also said that despite the Delhi government’s launching of Corona APP to help patients transparently know the actual status of beds’ availability these hospitals are not furnishing the exact position despite the fact that the government has given them the pass word of the app.

Warning them that the government will not spare them n will be dealth with severely Kejrival said that not only are these owners being summoned by Delhi government to explain their position and set right the situation, an officer of Delhi government has also been deputed at the reception of all Delhi private hospitals who will accquaint the government about the status of available vacant beds but will also ensure that the Covid 19 patients are rendered treatment and admission in these private hospitals.

Regarding complaints about testing of Covid 19 not being done in Delhi’s govt hospitals chief minister Arvind Kejrival revealed that 17 government hospitals of Delhi have been authorised to do testings n nobody can refuse on the spot testing of Covid 19. He also disclosed that yesterday 5300 tests have been conducted in a single day and Delhi is the number two states in.the country conducting maximum tests. He also appealed to the patients suffering from mild symptoms or asymptomatic patients not to come forward for hospital addmissions or testings as this will hamper the chances of the severe patients.

After receiving complaints of non addmission of serious patients in Delhi govt or those run by the central government resulting in even their sad death, chief minister Arvind Kejrival said that his government has issued written directions to all the Delhi hospital to immediately admit the suspected Covid 19 patients especially those suffering from respiratory problem or those having oxygen saturation requiring addmision in ICU.

It may be recalled that the Covid 19 pandemic is witnessing tremendous rise since the last 9 days with each day detectingabout 1200 case on an average.

Delhi has in total about 26334 confirmed cases with 708 cases where as in Maharashtra the total cases are more than 80 thousand with 2849 deaths. Shocking and alarming indeed.
