The last rites of Rajya Sabha MP late Amar Singh were performed today morning at CHATARPUR by his two daughters amid tears in the presence of limited number of family members and near and dear ones.
The former member of parliament and prominent actress Jaya Prada, who considered Amar Singh as her God father and had always been with him during his thick n thin, finally joining the BJP was the first to arrive at the late leader’s house to pay her tearful homage n final adieu.
The Rajya Sabha MP now in BJP Jyotiraditya Scindia, Shiv Pal Singh Yadav, brother of former UP CM Mulayam Singh Yadav, Rajya Sabha MP Subhash Sharma n several other leaders also paid their tributes to their old friend n political colleague. Due the ongoing Covid 19 regulations there was not much rush of the late MP’s friends n followers.
Rajya Sabha MP left behind his wife Pankaja Singh n two daughters Drishti n Disha. HE WAS 64 YEAR OLD. His body was brought from the Airport yesterday night by the Rajya Sabha MP Subhash Sharma.
It may be recalled that a prominent leader of Samajwadi Party who later on severed relations with MULAYAM Singh Yadav credited with forming the UPA government in Delhi in 2008/ 09 by making the then Samajwadi Party leader Mulayam Singh to agree lending unconditional support to Congress to keep the saffron party at bay, Rajya Sabha MP Amar Singh was suffering from Kidney complications and was admitted in Singapore hospital for the last several months. He underwent the Kidney transplant in the year 2012.
He died two days before at the age of 64. Amar Singh was a popular n a controversial politician as well, who had good relations with leaders of all the political parties at the helm even with Communist Party of India, Marxists’ general secretary Harkishan Singh Surjeet.
He was a bridge between Mulayam Singh Yadav n the corporate houses n Bollywood and was also a close n trusted friend of megastar Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Ambani several n for MP Jaya Prada years ago.
He came as a rescuer for Amitabh Bachchan when he was in immense financial crisis n not able to pay the income tax liabilities of mere 4 crore rupees. This was when Amitabh Bachchan’s ABCL was in immense jeopardy.
Amar Singh not only helped Bachchan paying his tax liabilities but also brought Jaya Bachchan in political terms with MULAYAM Singh convincing her to join Samajwadi Party n nominating as the Rajya Sabha MP.
However, after severing relations with MULAYAM Singh Yadav, Amitabh Bachchan n Jaya too severed links n relations with Amar Singh who later on became the worst critic of Amitabh n his family publicly using harsh words against them.
He later on, a few months ago repented for his past mistakes n sought apologies from Amitabh Bachchan by posting a vedio on his Twitter handle.
AMITABH Bachchan too had posted a picture of his, on his Twitter handle bowing head in reverence expressing his condolences to the bereaved family n paying heartfelt tributes to his one time most trusted friend late Amar Singh. Om Shanti.
