Absconding from police since 26 th Jan wanted in the Red Fort case with a reward of 1 lakh Deep Sidhu arrested today
A desperately wanted accuse of the Red Fort case responsible for inciting violence and unfurling of the Nishaan Sahib flag on Red Fort amounting to an anti national act of sacrilege of national flag with a cash award of Rs one lakh on his head and absconding since the last 15 days, a Punjabi actor Deep Sidhu has been arrested today by the Delhi Crime Branch team led by its deputy commissioner of police, IPS Sanjeev Yadav.
Deep Sidhu was likely to head for Purnia, Bihar, before he was arrested said the news reports.
There are different versions regarding the area of his arrest. While there are reports of his arrest from Zikarpur between Chandigarh and Ambala, another report shows his arrest from Karnal, Haryana.
The various Kisan unions who had given the call for the Republic Day tractors rally organised in Delhi to protest demanding withdrawal of three farm laws n enactment of a new law on MSP had outrightly condemned the act of unfurling of the Nishaan Sahib flag at Red fort and the violence therein.
The ongoing farmers movement had been getting bad name after the unfurling of the Sikh flag at Red Fort amounting to secrilege of the national flag an anti constitutional act condemned by one and all.
The farmers n their leaders have sidelined themselves from this anti national act and had demanded Deep Sidhu’s arrest and subsequent stringent punishment to the culprits of the anti national acts.
The Bollywood actor and BJP member of Parliament from Faridkot Punjab whose pictures with Deep Sidhu and Prime minister were posted in social media Sunny Deol had also condemned this act and through tweets declared that he has severed all relations with him since several months having already declared about this on 15 th December through his earlier tweets.
Several other pictures of this Punjabi Actor were also posted in social media with Dharmendra, Hemamalini, Bobby Deol etc, showing his proximity with Deol n his family.
In some of the vedios after absconding, Deep Sidhu had also disclosed that he had no connection with BJP and had never campaigned for Sunny Deol nor had xappealed to vote for him or BJP and he has been actively involved in the farmers movement.
According to news reports he used to send his vedios to a female friend in California US, through whatsapp from where they were loaded on social media to disseminate his views on the ongoing developments, while absconding.
This a big catch for the crime branch who had been desperately looking for Deep Sidhu whose arrest demand from cross section of the people including the farmers leaders like BKU’s Rakesh Tikaith were repeatedly mounting as made in front of TV news cameras n reporters to sideline themselves from them.
It may be recalled that about forty four FIRs have been registered by the Delhi Police in connection with the violence on 26 th January including serious cases against Deep Sidhu and gangster Lakha Sadana in an FIR in connection with the Red Fort case under charges of violence, sedition n other IPC acts. The Crime Branch has registered 14 FIRs.
Deep Sidhu who is a Punjabi actor had been extremely active in the ongoing farmers movement at the Singhu border between Haryana n Punjab and was allegedly actively associated n involved in the Red Fort violence and unfurling of the Sikh flag, inviting the protestors.
His vedio has unambiguously shown him in saffron turban and Patta, flamboyantly taking his own selfie vedio n posting in social media alongwith the protestors at Red Fort rampart where the flag was unfurled on 26th January, inviting massive national outrage.
In some of his vedios while absconding he had allegedly blamed n ridiculed his community saying that he has been branded as an anti nationalist for an act that he has committed to highlight the cause of Punjab farmers n that he is not afraid of being arrested further adding that those who have given me shelter are better then them.
He is believed to be impressed by Bhindranwale and according to the news reports the police will in depth investigate about his alleged links with banned organisations of Punjab having roots abroad. He will be produced in the Court today evening.
