Uttarakhand CM’s OSD is no more, succumbs to deadly Covid 19

Deadly pandemic is claiming several lives daily and the surge is massive too in various states of India with Uttarakhand having crossed more than 42 thousand Covid 19 cases and 512 mortalities.

There is yet another shocking news given by Uttarakhand chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat terming it as a personal loss.

His officer on special duty Gopal Singh Rawat is no more who succumbed to this dreaded pandemic today.

CM’s OSD was admitted in Doon hospital for the last more than a week after he was detected positive for Covid 19. His entire family was infected with this pandemic, the first being his daughter.

In a tweet today grief stricken chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat written : The sad demise of my officer on special duty is a personal loss to me. He was an efficient and a capable officer. May the Almighty render strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss. My deepest condolences to the grief stricken family.

It may be recalled that the chief minister himself after finding his OSD n some staffers detected with Covid 19, had got himself in self isolation a week before as a precautionary measure and had conducted his official duties from his residence.

Several MLAs n the state BJP chief Bansidhar Bhagat too was infected with Covid 19 with Congress MLAs Indira Hridayesh , Harish Dhami and speaker Prem Chandra Aggrawal already under treatment in Medanta n Max hospitals at Gurugram n Dehradun after having been found positive for Covid 19. Gyan Singh Negi, a Sr BJP leader of Uttarakhand holding the state minister rank had also succumbed to Covid 19 on September 8th. He was the Vice Chairman of the State’s Health Advisory Committee equivalent to the state minister in Uttarakhand government.

Meanwhile the Covid 19 situation in the state has crossed 42000 mark with today’s total detections being 874 cases with 512 deaths and total tally reaching 42751 numbers.

About 30107 Covid 19 patients have recovered so far with total active cases being 11831. THE STATE’S RECOVERY RATE IS 70.59% , TEN PERCENT LESS THAN THE NATIONAL AVERAGE OF 80%. The state’s doubling rate is 28.7 days ( in a week). Dehradun despite the capital is having maximum cases with today’s Covid 19 infections being 368 followed by 158 in Udham Singh Nagar, 78 in Nainital and 68 in Haridwar. Pauri Garhwal recorded 42 cases in a day whereas Tehri Garhwal witnessed 28 cases followed by 23 in Uttarkashi and 17 in Rudraprayag. However Almora recorded 34 cases , Chamoli 23 n Champawat merely one case.
