Tremors felt in Delhi n NCR

Delhi, Ghaziabad and Noida tonight experienced earthquake tremors at 11.53 PM measured 4.2 on the Richter scale. However there is no news about the exact epic centre of the earthquake.

While majority of the people were indoors due to chilly winters on sleeping mode, tremors in the national capital region were felt with fans literally trembling and people living on top stories feeling them unambiguously.

However, the concerned authorities are yet to ascertain the details and accurate intensity of the tremor. According to the latest information the official website of national Centre of seismology is yet to acknowledge the earthquake and its origin.

It may be recalled that several months earlier also number of tremors were experienced in Delhi NCR region including in Haryana and Rajasthan with seismologists foreseeing more such tremors to occur in the near future.

According to a June 13, reports about 11 mild earthquakes had taken place in April and May.

On 12th April an earthquake measuring 3.5 magnitude was experienced in Delhi NCR at 5.45 PM with the epic centre being in East Delhi.

Similarly, an earthquake of the magnitude of 4.6 struck near Delhi on May 29 in Delhi NCR prompting residents run of their houses in panic followed by several other.

The earth scientists had already predicted about more such, even powerful earthquakes occuring in the near future especially in view of the Delhi being a highly seismic zone prone to earthquakes.
