Licence of Pvt hospital not treating Covid 19 patients will be revoked warns Delhi CM

DELHI CHIEF MINISTER Arvind Kejrival today warned the private hospitals of Delhi not to send back the Covid 19 patients and render them the best possible treatment , failing which, their licences would be cancelled.

He strongly said that it’s their bounden duty and responsibility to admit the Covid 19 patients in their hospitals for necessary treatment or arrange an ambulance to admit them to government hospital. He added that a show cause notice threatening to cancel the licences of such hospitals will be issued forthwith.

One such show cause notice was issued by his govt whose management refused addmission to a Covid patient yesterday said Kejrival. Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejrival was addressing the media men n Delhites today in a digital press conference.

Cautioning Delhi citizens not to panic in view the spike in cases after certain relaxations Arvind Kejrival assured them that it will take a long time to control this pandemic and as such we’ll have to learn to live with it but with determination and keeping off the fear or apprehensions.

Arvind Kejrival assured the people of Delhi by saying that they need not to worry as majority of the cases are of asympomatic nature and with mild symptons. About 3, 314 patients with mild symptons are being treated at homes and our team of doctors are in constant touch with them advising about the necessary medication in this regard.

Giving details about the total number of beds available to admit Covid 19 patients CM Arvind Kejrival said that out of total 4500 beds available at present, only 2,000 beds are occupied. Explaining about the ventilators under use and its numbers available Kejrival said that 11 out of 250 ventilators in government hospitals and 15 out of 72 ventilators in private hospitals are being used currently by Covid 19 patients. He said that his government has asked the 117 private hospitals to reserve 20% beds to admit and treat the Covid 19 patients. He revealed that in all the Delhi’s private hospitals about 509 out of the 677 beds are occupied by the Covid 19 patients.

He added that till yesterday Delhi has recorded total 13, 418 cases of Cov 19 of which 6,540 have recovered while 261 had expired. At present therefore 6,617 patients are in active catagory.

He further added that after the relaxations on May 17 there were total 9, 755 cases in Delhi. However in a week’s time 3,500 cases were reported but about 2,500 patients were also cured simultaneously said Kejrival. He said : this means that in a week’s time there is a difference of mere one thousand cases.
