The Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejrival has assured the Delhites not to panic with regard to the ongoing birds flu as news reports about this flu being rampant in Rajasthan, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh are on the full swing.
Arvind Kejrival revealed that till yet Delhi has not witnessed a single case of birds flu therefore the Delhites need not to worry about it. Moreover, his government has taken an important decision applying complete ban on the import of birds from countries abroad n other states as well, especially closing the Ghazipur poultry market for ten days from now, from where the majority of Delhi chickens, birds etc are supplied to venders on massive scale.
In a vedio message and a tweet, the Delhi chief minister had said that the Delhi government has initiated all the necessary action on birds flu in the capital.
There is no need to panic or worry. We are keeping our constant vigilant eye on the situation. Till now Delhi has not witnessed a single confirmed case. For instance from today onwards import of all the birds have been banned from and the Ghazipur poultry market has also been closed tweeted Arvind Kejrival.
Addressing Delhites virtually, Delhi CM Arvind Kejrival said that in every districts of the national capital an efficient Rapid Response team led by the district magistrate comprising of veterinary officers n health officials have been constituted which is keeping a sharp eye on this crisis at the decentralised level to contain the flue and they are working very efficiently.
Special directives have been issued to all the veterinary doctors and officers to keep strict eye and vigilance of any possible case of Birds Flu, especially approaching every meat shop, birds markets, poultries n slaughter houses of hens n chickens to keep special vigilance inorder to avoid occurence of this dreaded flue.
Special efforts are being made to closely check the situation in Bhalswa Lake, Haujkhas lake, Delhi Zoo bird sanctuary n lakes, Paschim Bihar n in several other parts of Delhi.
He also added that the Delhi government is strictly and efficiently handling the situation and is following and adhering to all the instructions and necessary guidelines issued by the central government as well, in this regard.
Kejrival disclosed that though there is not a single confirmed case of birds flu in Delhi but the health department of Delhi government has collected and send 140 samples to a Jullundar laboratory for examination, the report of which is expected after two days. The government will take suitable action after acknowledging the reports.
He appealed to Delhites, not to worry or get panicked as the situation for is under fully under control subject to arrival of reports on 140 samples sent for testing to Jullundar laboratory.
