Five die when Swift fell into gorge at Saknidhar, Devprayag, RIP

There is an extremely tragic news sending shock waves in Garhwal, Uttarakhand after five persons lost their lives in Devprayag near Saknidhar in Pauri Garhwal district after the car they were travelling in, fell down in a gorge.

According to the latest news the car was going towards Rishikesh from Srinagar with five passengers which fell down at Saknidhar in Devprayag after the driver lost control, tragically killing all the five.

The disaster management team and the local police had rushed to the accident sites and the dead bodies were retrieved after great efforts with the help of the anxious locals who had gathered at the spot.

The proper identification of the dead had not been verified about two hours ago. However, after finding documents from their possession, the identity of the deceased could be ascertained as following : Dheeraj Singh Rawat son of Ram Dayal Singh, Pauri Garhwal, ( HG) Sanjiv Bhandari son of B. S. Bhandari, aged 42 years, Bapu Gram Rishikesh, Ajit Singh son of Kartar Singh Jhajjar, driver, Pawan Singh Bhandari son of Jeet Singh aged 62 years, resident of Indira Puram, Ghaziabad UP. It seems that the all were from the same family.

The car Swift was heading towards Rishikesh nearing number HR 26 CF 0719 on NH 58 Rishikesh Srinagar Road being widened these days. It is believed that the car must be in speed n had gone out of control felling in a deep gorge about 150 to 200 metres downwards resulting in instant deaths with grievous injuries.

The chief minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat while extending his condolences tweeted : learned about the anguishing news regarding the sad demise of five persons in a car accident near Saknidhar on Rishikesh Srinagar Road. This is extremely anguishing. May the Almighty render peace to the departed souls and enough strength to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss tweeted Uttarakhand CM.
