Delhi will have 5.5 lakh cases by 31st July and Delhi would require 80 thousand beds

It seems unambiguous that the war of words between the Lt governor and the Delhi government has started after the former over ruled the cabinet committee decision of Delhi government restricting outsiders to seek Covid 19 treatment in Delhi hospitals , government n private in order to reserve beds for the Delhi Covid 19 patients in view of the horrible spurt in cases for the last 11 days with deaths reaching the 874 figure and Covid 19 cases nearing 30000 in just over two months.

The deputy chief minister of Delhi Manish Sisodia has announced that by July 31 Delhi will have 5.5 lakh cases of Corona with the requirement of about 80 thousand beds.

The highly inflated numbers indeed shocked one and all in Delhi. While speaking to media after coming out of the meeting with LG and central government as well as Delhi government officials Deputy CM Manish Sisodia has said that their request to LG regarding reconsideration of his earlier order has been turned down adding to the woes of Delhi.

Quoting the statement of few officials of the central government in the meeting of LG in which he was also present, Sisodia said that the officials do not consider the Covid 19 spurt in Delhi as the community spread despite the fact that the AIIMS director had himself admitted that the way cases are spreading in Delhi it seems that the symptoms indicate of community spread.

Admitting that Delhi is in a great mess and difficult situation after the decision of LG Anil Baijal over ruling the Delhi cabinet’s decision deputy CM Manish Sisodia said that at present fifty percent outsiders seek treatment in Delhi government n pvt hospitals and 70% in central govt controlled hospitals like AIIMS, RML and Safdarjung hospitals and if the cases rise exponentially as is the present trend, doubling them in 12/ 13 days the situation in Delhi will become extremely critical badly affecting the Covid 19 patients of Delhi.

However, after revoking the Delhi government decision by LG we will serve the patients of other states as well and endeavour to make all the medical arrangements added Manish Sisodia.

While responding to the queries of mediamen today Manish Sisodia said that the way corona cases are rising by 30th june Delhi will record 1 lakh cases , two lakh cases till 15th July and 5.5 lakh cases on 31st July. This means that while on 15th July Delhi hospitals will require 33 thousand beds and on 31st July the total requirement would be of 80 thousand beds.

The horrific revelations by deputy CM Manish Sisodia has send a feeling of immense fear among the people of Delhi. Meanwhile the Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejrival has undergone the Covid 19 test today, the report of which is expected this evening or tomorrow morning. At present he is in home isolation. CM Arvind Kejrival had yesterday complained of mild fever and sore throat since Sunday.
