TickTock has continuously created a sensation since its birth. Just after 4 years of its origin, it has successfully managed to bang more than 700 million downloads. TikTok has claimed to increase its growth by 125% in the last two years.
From the past few years, YouTube is facing hard competition due to many similar apps, and TikTok is one of them. However, YouTube is now developing a similar app named ‘Shorts’ to overshadow it. The upcoming app will allow users to make short videos. The catch is that it permits to use licensed music available on YouTube.
The team is currently working on the development of the app. It is expected to get launched by the year-end. However, YouTube officials have not confirmed the news yet. Earlier, also it had launched stories-feature on YouTube like Snapchat and Instagram. As per the resources, Facebook is also developing a similar short video app named ‘Lasso.’ This is yet to be declared officially by the Facebook Team.
The Chinese app TikTok had faced criticism due to allegations of exposing the children to sexual content and for publishing pornographic content. The app was banned in India for a few weeks but was soon resumed after revising security and privacy settings by the developers.
The upcoming app ‘Shorts’ will be available on both Android and iOS platforms. It is currently under development and is expected to get released by the year-end.
