A study done by the scientists of many\nnations has found that urea present in the human urine can be used to build\nstructures on the surface of the moon. As per the article published in Journal\nof Cleaner Production, human urine has a chemical structure which is similar to\nthat of the lunar regolith.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now the question arises why do we need to\nbuild structures on the surface of the moon? The surface of the lunar is much\nmore severe due to lack of the atmosphere. It has an extreme temperature that\nrises up to 120 degree Celsius even. Due\nto these harsh conditions, the effects of the meteor shower will be much worse\non the moon than on the earth. So these structures will safeguard the people\nwho will reside there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To examine their research, the scientists\nhave developed 3D printed cylinders that are made from the material that is the\nsame as regolith. They mould it with human urine and other compounds. These\nstructures will be capable of bearing heavy loads. The team of experts is now\nconcentrating on how to extract urea from urine along with other necessary\ncomponents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
