West Bengal former CM for 11 yrs in critical stage, on ventilator

The former chief minister of West Bengal for eleven years from year 2000 to 2011 n CPM polit bureau member, after Jyoti Basu who ruled for three decades, 76 year old Budhadev Bhattacharya is in critical condition on ventilator battling for life in a Kolkatta hospital. Being closely monitored by a team of seven senior doctors former West Bengal CM is in critical condition, on mechanical ventilator support having shown slight improvement yesterday evening. His pulse rate, blood pressure and oxygen saturation level were said be stable till yesterday and the doctors are planning to graduallywithdraw the ventilator after his condition improves. Former CM Budhadev was admitted in a private hospital in Kolkatta on Wednesday after he reportedly cimplained of breathing problems. A successful chief minister of West Bengal from 2000 to 2011, Budhadev lead a modest life even while he was the chief minister of west Bengal not even owning a private vehicle. His wife Meera Battacharya was once invited to a marriage ceremony by an accquaintance. When she expressed her inability to attend it despite her hearty wish as the venue was too far, the guest who extended her the invitation was shocked to learn that the CM dosen’t have a car of his own. However, he arranged his own car n Meera obliged. Similarly, when Budhadev was the serving chief minister his daughter used to travel by the city bus to her presidency college with passengers surprised to see the CM’s daughter commutung by bus. Today Budhadev Bhattacharya and his family are leading a simple life in a modest flat with its bathroom dilapidated. Being the ex chief minister he would haved enjoyed number of privileges but he never longed for them. According to Shaw :Once the West Bengal governor Dhankad visited his house and was surprised and shocked to see his dilapidated bathroom. The chief minister came to know of it n she personally got it renovated said Budhadev’s admirer Shaw respinding to a facebook post. It’s really shocking that such luminiaries are not remembered by people n even supporters or the leaders of his n other partirs who once admired him. Wishing him a speedy recovery.
