Vivo has been busy developing its following line of flagship devices, which will almost certainly be known as the Vivo X80 series. Rumours regarding what to expect from the X80 phones and when they will be released are circulating.
Vivo X80 series launch date in India
Vivo has no official comments about when the X80 will be available – and the Vivo X70 series just debuted in September 2021. It’s also unclear where the smartphone will be accessible, with the standard X70 being blocked from India, even though the X70 Pro and Pro+ were launched there.
According to sources, the Vivo X80 Pro Flipkart launch date in India is in April. So with half of the month has gone, assuming that’s correct, we should expect the first Vivo announcement any day now – but it has to be stated that the X80 launch seems a little odd given that the company introduced the X Note, X Fold and Pad in China in early April.
Vivo X80 series Price in India
We still don’t know India’s Vivo X80 price range, just like we don’t know when it will be released. The previous generation, of course, provides us with a hint, so here are the prices for the X70 devices:
- X70: from £3,699
- X70 Pro: from $4,299/Rs46,990.
- X70 Pro+: starting at £5,499/Rs79,990.
The prices are only estimates because the X70 series has yet to be released in the United Kingdom or continental Europe.
So far, the price leak for the X80 series comes from the sources that have forecasted a significant price increase. The sources anticipate the X80 Pro to start at £5,699 and the X80 Pro+ to start at $6,499, making the smartphones at least £120/$150 more costly than their predecessors.
The Vivo X80 Pro 5G price in India is estimated to be Rs 82,990.
Vivo X80 Specifications
Display and design
According to Vivo X80 news, the phone will feature a 6.78in FHD+ OLED curved display and be 8.3mm thick. The same leaker adds in a follow-up report that the display will have a refresh rate of 120Hz and that the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset would support the phone.
It will also include a 4500mAh battery with wired rapid charging at 80W.
Within the Vivo X80 5G, the company has incorporated a 128GB non-expandable internal memory. In addition, the smartphone supports 5G, Wi-Fi 802.11, b/g/n, 4G VoLTE networks, Glonass, A-GPS, Bluetooth v5.2, Mobile Hotspot, and USB Type-C connectivity.
The Vivo X80 5G has a triple-camera system on the back. It has a 50MP wide-angle primary camera, a 13MP ultra-wide camera, and a 12MP zoom camera. Digital Zoom, LED Flash, Touch to Focus, Continuous Shooting, Autofocus and HDR mode are the onboard features. In addition, the brand has incorporated a 44MP f/2.5 Selfie Camera Lens with Screen Flash at the front.
While publishing a story about leaked X80 specs, many of the features have shown to be similar to a subsequent Vivo X80 GSMArena leak. Therefore we assume this is the model mentioned in that report.
