The political tussle between the present and former chief ministers viz Trivendra Singh Rawat and Harish Rawat, otherwise, known to be good friends, despite being in rival political parties has enhanced with the former allegedly asking the latter as to what is the reason that these days Harish Rawatji has again become a friend of Umesh Sharma, journalist whom he used to pronounce as a “blackmailer and stingbaaz” when the proprietor of the regional television channel Samachar Plus did a sting on him in 2016 exposing him about the alleged accusations of bribing certain MLAs to save his government n also saying that he will close his eyes giving complete freedom to them ( MLAs) to earn as much money they can if they back him etc.
In 2016 Harish Rawat was the CM of Uttarakhand and about eleven Congress MLAs had changed sides joining the BJP thus putting his government in jeopardy.
According to the latest news , the infuriated chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat was allegedly posing this question to the general secretary AICC Harish Rawat after he was granted relief by the honourable Supreme Court by staying the orders of Uttarakhand High Court after quashing the FIR against journalist Umesh Sharma and directing the SP CBI to start enquiry against the former against corruption charges levelled by the scribe Umesh Sharma.
Talking to the mediamen chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat warned the corruptors and mafia that he will not allow them to enter the state n that there is an incessant conspiracy against him to destabilise his government since the last three n a half year but will not let them succeed in their ill conceived notions, conspiracies n vested designs.
Even the previous CMs had been blackmailed like me by these unscruplous elements in the state he added.
However he taunted the former CM Harish Rawat posing him a question as to what has happened to him now to have made Umesh Kumar his friend whom he used to call a blackmailer n stingbaaz when in 2016 he operared a sting against him. He must answer this question he quipped.
Earlier the former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat, State Congress president Pritam Singh and other Congress leaders had held a press conference and also a massive demonstration n subsequent courting of arrests by hundreds of Congress leaders n workers outside the governor’s house, demanding resignation of the chief minister on moral grounds so as to enable the free n fair CBI enquiry on the alleged charges of corruption against CM Rawat.
However, unmoved by these charges strongly denied by him and the BJP, chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat is busy with his official engagements holding good number of meetings with senior officers on countering the ongoing pandemic in the state and taking several other pivotal decisions.
The chief minister Rawat today paid his richest floral tributes to the legendary iron man of India Sardar Valab Bhai Patel in Dehradun on his anniversary.
He also personally met the grief stricken three time lawmaker of Salt assembly constituency, Surendra Singh Jeena at his Rajendra Nagar, New Delhi house and expressed his deepest condolences n heartfelt tributes to the departed soul. Surendra Jeena’s wife Neha Jeena had expired two days ago in Delhi after a strong cardiac arrest.
The chief minister while extending his heartfelt deepest condolences tweeted : Met revered MLA Surendra Singh Jeena at his Delhi residence, conveyed my deepest condolences on the untimely sad demise of his wife and prayed to Almighty to give him n bereaved family strength to bear this irreparable loss.
