Uttarakhand CM inaugurates 132 numbers, 108 Ambulances on Tuesday

The health department of Uttarakhand government has on Tuesday released 132 number of new emergency services 108 Ambulances, including initiation of ten bedded Intensive Care units. The chief minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat inaugurated this new fleet of 108 ambulances by flagging them, being the chief guest at the function organised at Gandhi Shatabdhi Metra Chikitsalaya in Dehradun.

The chief minister also distributed cheques of Rs. 11 thousand to each Corona Warriors including appreciation certificates for their invaluable services during the challenging Covid 19 lockdown and thereafter.

The chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has through tweets while informed about release of these new 132, 108 Ambulances into service and opening of ten bedded ICU unit at Dehradun, he also revealed that the ICU beds and ventilators which were around 216 ( ICU) and 116 ( ventilators) earlier has now been enhanced to 863 ICU Beds and 695 ventilators chief minister tweeted.

There had been in the past lots of complaints about shortage of 108 ambulances in the state with lots of them either lying unrepaired or out of order due to resource crunch or negligence.

There had also been complaints of non availability of fuels to these ambulances including the staff on contractual basis having been discharged from duties leading to strikes etc.

These new ambulances will be of immense help to the patients in the interiors of Uttarakhand to ferry patients especially the pregnant mothers and those suffering from critical illnesses requiring transport with proper oxygen and other life giving system inside the ambulances on short calls.

Dr Anoop Nautiyal, former DG of 108 services in Uttarakhand said addition of 132 ambulances in the 108 emergency service fleet in # Uttarakhand will help strengthen the mobile health services in the mountain state like ours. He added that this is also uplifting given by my earlier association with the 108 services. Dr. Anoop Nautiyal was also felicitated with the Corona Warrior appreciation Award in Dehradun by the chief minister of Uttarakhand.
