Three culprits of Betalghat abduction and gangrape of a 14 yr old girl arrested

The three culprits of the Betalghat, Kumaon Uttarakhand who were absconding for the last five days after committing a brutal crime allegedly gang raping a fourteen year old girl after kidnapping her from her house have been arrested on Tuesday evening.

There were tremendous protests all over the Nainital district n in social media as well, demanding immediate arrests of the culprits lest they will approach the Nainital High court for seeking due justice.

This obnoxious incident of the abduction and subsequent gangrape took place on 4 th December sending shock waves in the entire Uttarakhand.

According to the latest news those three arrested were Kamlesh, 18 year old, Pankaj, 20 yrs’ and Hridayesh 25.

These jobless youths who had been to their village after being in private jobs in Delhi had lost their jobs due during the Covid 19 lockdown and had returned to their villages.

These jobless youths on December 4th abducted a 14 year old girl from her house and took her to the jungle where she was forcibly raped turn by turn and left in an unconcious state.

Next morning, the unconscious girl was found by the villagers raising voices of dissent demanding the arrest and stringent punishment to the culprits.

Even in social media several posts became viral accusing the police authorities of being negligent in tracing the culprits.

A social activist Surendra Halsi had even vowed to approach the high court in case the culprits are not brought to justice while appealing to the chief minister Uttarakhand to personally intervene and get the culprits arrested.

The matter was highlighted in the media as well, inviting the attention of the higher authorities of the state.

Finally the police came into action and the case from the revenue police was transferred to the state police finally leading to the arrests of these three culprits yesterday evening who were planning to leave the Nainital district clandestinely. The Uttarakhand police deserves all commendation to trace the culprits in five days.

The police of Nainital have today produced all the three culprits in the court in Nainital who’d been sent to jail. The family members and the locals today held a protest demonstration demanding stringent punishment to the abductors and rapists.
