Bollywood actor Sonu Sood is quite popular these days particularly because of his pivotal contribution by way of coming to the rescue of the poor and hapless migrant workers in Mumbai, Maharashtra by arranging several buses on his own expenses and ferrying them to their respective hometowns in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and other states.
He was in the print and electronic news being highly appreciated for his pro people welfare activities particularly during Covid 19 pandemic lockdown when hundreds of thousands of poor jobless n homeless migrant labourers n their starving children were walking on roads under scorching sun with boils under their feet covering hundreds of kilometres.
Several pregnant poor women were also constrained to walk while starving and thirsty.
This bollywood actor was lauded by one and all in media for his pro poor generous contribution for a noble cause. He also arranged for the meals of these migrant workers during their journey. Several political high ups at the helm of affairs lauded this actor and even tweeted lauding his efforts to help the poor especially when the migrants were in real jeopardy.
Meanwhile, the former chief minister of Uttarakhand and Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshiyari who had lauded the efforts of Bollywood actor on his twitter handle few days ago today met him at Raj Bhawan in Mumbai and complimented him heartily for his laudable contribution in the service of the poor and the economically deprived people of Maharashtra n the country.
Sonu Sood today met Maharashtra governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari at Raj Bhawan in Mumbai and accquainted him in detail about his ongoing work of ferrying migrants to their respective homes and also arranging for their meals during the journey including some financial assistence.
He presented the governor a letter highlighting his contribution to help the migrants. According to a tweet today Governor of Maharashtra Bhagat Singh Koshiyari wrote posting some pictures with Sonu Sood as well : Film Star Sonu Sood called on at Raj Bhawan, Mumbai today. Shri Sonu Sood briefed about his ongoing work to help the migrant people to reach their home states and to provide them food. Applauded his great work and assured him of his fullest support in these endeavours.
It may be recalled that Sonu Sood who uncompromisingly helped hundreds of stranded migrants during the lockdown by arranging buses and food for the poor migrants by ferrying them to their homes with meals was emotional when a women named her new born infant after his name as Sonu Sood Shrivastav. Sonu was credited with sending about 350 migrants to Karnataka from Maharashtra and several others to other states of Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan etc.
