Son of world famed environmentalist Sunder Lal Bahuguna, sr. journalist Rajiv Nayan attacked
A senior journalist, columnist and blogger n son of the world famed eminent environmentalist Padmavibhushan Sunder Lal Bahuguna, namely Rajiv Nayan Bahuguna has been allegedly attacked by some goons in Uttarakhand.
His picture with a swollen left eye having gone blue after having been battered by the goons have been posted in the Facebook by his friends n Janchowk news also posted his pic with the news of attack on Rajiv.
A progressive thinker n writer Rajiv Nayan Bahuguna is quite popular for his outspoken views especially against communal, reactionary, n divisive forces in Facebook acknowledging quite harsh views from his ardent ideological foes n political activists apart from enormous appreciations from his journalist n intellectual friends.
He was allegedly quite forthcoming in writing posts against communal n reactionary forces and was also receiving some threatening calls say news reports. Rajiv has referred about these threatening calls on his Facebook posts as well n has also said that these cowardice actions would not be able to demoralise him.
The Communist Party of India has condemned the attack on senior journalist Rajiv Nayan Bahuguna and demanded an impartial inquiry into this attack on a veteran journalist blaming the BJP. The Prajamandal Party of Uttarakhand also condemned the attack on veteran journalist n writer Rajiv Nayan Bahuguna. It’s president Samir Raturi has also posted the veteran journalists pic with his post condemning this incident in strongest possible terms n demanding stringent action against the culprits.
It may be recalled that senior journalist Rajiv Nayan Bahuguna is a popular and well acclaimed name of Uttarakhand who had been associated with prestigious newspaper Nav Bharat Times, Dinman, Hindustan Hindi, Outlook n other national dailies. He is a social activist too who had struggled against the construction of Tehri Dam for several years with his father n eminent environmentalist Sunder Lal Bahuguna.
Rajiv Nayan Bahuguna is a prolific writer, vivacious reader, roving journalist n a socio political activist , now a days involved in writing his impressive liberal views sometimes allegedly creating controversies in social media n also contributing articles to newspapers n periodicals.
Uttarakhand Journalists Forum condemns the attack on Rajiv Nayan Bahuguna n urges upon the chief minister Sh. Trivendra Singh Rawat to immediately intervene in the matter n order for the arrest of the culprits to ensure the complete safety n security of the fourth estate n journalists in Uttarakhand.
Meanwhile the former minister n president of Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee Kishore Upadhyay has expressed his serious concern over this shameful incident demanding stringent action against the culprits. He today spoke to the DG Police, Uttarakhand Anil Raturi and demanded immediate arrest n registration of FIR under the relevant sections of IPC . The DG gave him a patient hearing n assured him the necessary action in this regard.
