Shiv Sena’s “SAAMNA” urges centre to recall Governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari

The confrontation between the Shiv Sena led government in Maharashtra and the governor of Maharashtra and Goa Bhagat Singh Koshiyari is enhancing day by day and it has now reached to such an extent that the ruling Shiv Sena’s mouth piece “SAAMNA” has urged the union government to recall him back as according to them he is being used to target the Maharashtra government of Shiv Sena, Congress and Nationalist Congress Party combine.

In an editorial in the Shiv Sena’s mouth piece SAAMNA tweeted in its Twitter handle the editorial catagorically blames the governor of serving the interests of the opposition instead of pursuing the agenda of the state government.

The editorial while accusing the governor of following the saffron party’s line said that if the government really wanted to safeguard the constitution it should call back the governor as the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi government is in majority and strong and the former cannot be used to target the government.

Saying that the governor is an honourable person n it is his own responsibility to maintain the dignity of the high office but he is acting on the advise of the saffron party.

Saamna adds that governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari has been active in politics being the chief minister of Uttarakhand earlier, but ever since he has assumed the pivotal responsibility as the state’s governor he has landed in several controversies, the recent being about the state plane for which he was not granted permission but he occupied the seat in the govt aircraft creating a controversy. The governor had to go to Dehradun for a private function and as per rules government planes are not permitted to be used for private events, not even the chief minister is allowed said Saamna editorial. But instead of abiding by the rules the former BJP CM Devendra Fadnavis has accused the Maharashtra government of being vindictive and egoistic. Not only this but when a list of 12 legislative council members was sent to the governor for approval, the sanction was delayed by him.

The Maharashtra governor is acting like a puppet, the Samna editorial mentioned.

It may be recalled that the Maharashtra and Goa governor Bhagat Singh Koshiyari ‘s office had sent the request for the state VVIP plane’s approval on 2nd February as he had to reach Dehradun on Thursday to further go to Mussourie being the chief guest in the 122 IAS induction ceremony. The governor had reached the Mumbai Airport on Thursday at 10.AM and sat in the state plane but after sometime was informed that he has been denied permission by the chief minister as the function he was going to attend was a private visit.

This raised quite a ruffle in the BJP circles with Devendra Fadnavis strongly criticizing the Maharashtra govt n CM Udhav Thakrey of insulting the state constitutional head being egoistic and vindictive.

The chief minister Udhav Thakrey had responded saying that the governor’s office was at fault as it was the responsibility officers of governor’s office to have enquired about the status of the letter from the CM’s office first n then advice the governor to proceed further. He said that the erring officials should be taken to task for the lapse putting the governor’s position in quandary.
