Sahitya Academy recipient Hindi n Garhwali literaturer n poet Prem Lal Bhatt is no more, RIP

The prominent Garhwali and Hindi poet, writer and literature Prem Lal Bhatt is no more. He breathed his last on Monday leaving behind a huge vaccine in the Garhwali n Uttarakhand’s literary n poetic circles after Sudama Prasad Premiji of village Fald, Kaljikhal Block Pauri Garhwal. A prestigious Academic award winner like late poet, writer and eminent literary figure Premi, Prem Lal Bhatt’s immense contribution in the preservation, promotion and propagation of Garhwali language cannot be forgotten ever despite his being a senior bureaucrat in government of India. Prem Lal Bhatt was an outstanding literature n poet in Hindi and Garhwali with several authored books to his credit. His contribution to Garhwali language is immeasurable n unparalleled. According to Garhwali contemporary poet Sandeep Rawat: He provided anew dimension to Garhwali essay literature and poetries. Among his popular literay works were his authored Garhwali poetry collection titled Umaak, published in 1979, Bhai lakeer ( The line of luck, ( Kavya Khand) published in 1987 n Garhwali Mahakasvya Uttarauan, published in 1987 were some of his outstanding authored works appreciated by one n all in the Garhwal n Uttarakhand community. He was felicitated with Prestigious Sahitya Academy Award along with Garhwal’s renowned literature n poet Sudama Prasad Premi in the year 2008. The passing away of Prem Lal Bhatt after prolonged illness in Delhi’s Panch Mahal appartment in Trans Yamuna Area is a huge loss to Garhwali n Hindi poetic literature the void of which is difficult to be filled. The Uttarakhand Journalist Forum condoles the death of a towering Garhwali n Hindi poet n literature n urges the Uttarakhand government to launch awards in the name of Bhatt n Sudama Prasad Premi to inspire present Garhwali poets n authors to propagate n preserve regional Garhwali, Kumaoni and Jaunsari languages.
