Rs 300 crores interest free loans’ Scheme to 25 thousands farmers commenced in Uttarakhand. Assembly elections in 2022

As the assembly elections are nearing, the Uttarakhand chief minister is giving concessions after concessions to the state electorates despite the hard fact that the hilly state’s fiscal deficit has enhanced to the tune of more than forty five thousand crores as being given to under stand.

As the farmers agitation is gaining momentum day by day with BJP’s strongest political rival, Congress, having extended its unconditional support to the ongoing movement with Uttarakhand’s Congress chief, Pritam Singh visiting the Ghazipur Dharna site and assuring his party’s state support as well, few days ago, the Uttarakhand government led by BJP has announced interest free loans to about twenty five thousand farmers to the tune of Rs 300 crores with the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat distributing cheques of three lakh interest free loans to eleven farmers on Saturday.

In a grand function organised in Dehradun today the Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat distributed interest free loan cheques of Rs three lakhs under the Rs 300 crore Deen Dayal Upadhyay Cooperative farmers welfare loan scheme at Bannu School Race Course Dehradun.

This interest free loan scheme was commenced today at 95 development blocks and some other places on Saturday.

Under this scheme the Uttarakhand government is delivering Rs three lakh loan to each farmer totalling to twenty five thousand farmers, for herbal production, fisheries, poultry farming, to buy agricultural equipments and farming etc in various parts of the hilly state in order to empower them.

After delivering cheques of Rs three lakhs to eleven farmers today, the chief minister also felicitated the Padam Shri recipient Prem Chand Sharma for horticulture development by presenting him the commendation trophy.

Addressing the audience comprising of farmers and their families including party workers, the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat lauded the prime minister Narendra Modi for bringing three agricultural law enabling farmers to become economically prosperous by implementing the Swaminathan report in favour of the farming community of the country.

He said that his government has always been in the forefront to serve the farmers of the country and is giving one and a half times more MSP than being given during the previous regimes.

He added that the Deen Dayal Cooperative farmers welfare scheme was started in Roorkie and after its encouraging results it had been implemented in entire Uttarakhand for the farmers’ benefit.

He added that sixty percent of the loan disbursed to the farmers in Uttarakhand have been repaid till date.

Talking about the zero tolerance policy of his government he lauded his government for constructing wide network of flyover overs and roads in entire Uttarakhand in just three years.

He disclosed that the total roads constructed in Uttarakhand during the last seventeen years since the year 2000, his government has constructed the same roads ( 150 kilometres less) in just three years after assuming power in the state.

This was made possible because of the zero tolerance policy of his government towards corruption in Uttarakhand with files moving rapidly without any bottlenecks.

In a tweet the chief minister wrote: Today the distribution of interest free loans have been conducted in 100 places. Over 95 places of every block have been chosen for this programme. The distribution of three hundred crore rupees loans will help our farming brothers n sisters double their incomes and do agriculture farming adequately tweeted Rawat.

It may be recalled that Uttarakhand has a fiscal deficit of more than forty five thousand crores having increased from merely Rs 6000 crores in the last sixteen years. The state has no concrete sources of income in the state to overcome this fiscal deficit with majority of the budget allegedly used in paying the interest of the loan taken from various sources including the World bank n Asian development etc. The state is mainly dependent of central financial aids n support. Through the sale of liquor the Excise department of Uttarakhand approximately generates Rs two thousand crores annually said the news reports
