Renowned social activist of Uttarakhand Dataram Joshi passes away

Uttarakhand has lost a renowned social activist today after losing the Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha president Mohabbat Singh Rana a few days ago sending shock waves in the socio political circles of Uttarakhand, especially in Delhi. Actively associated with Gargwal Hitaishini Sabha and umpteen social organisations of the hilly state fully dedicated towards the noble causes Data Ram Joshi breathed his last today after a brief illness giving shock to a vast humanity of Uttarakhand.

Former employ of Delhi government, having worked in the Lt governor’s residential office Data Ram Joshi had retired a few years ago but was fully engaged in social activities despite retiring. While in service too he was extremely involved in the social activities having played a highly contributive role in organising Uttaarayini Makrayini events emphasising upon the Delhi government to include unto its official itenary every year on the lines of Chatpuja of the Bihar community.

The founder n president of Gangotri Samajik Sanstha, associated with Tehri Uttarkashi Jan Vikas Parishad and Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha Data Ram Joshi breathed his last at 6.30 early morning in Dr. Lok Nayak Jay Prakash Narayan Hospital where he was undergoing treatment for his ailment.

A jovial social figure with affable nature Joshi’s social career spanned several decades having tirelessly worked for the development of his village, district and also Uttarakhand community in Delhi. He also introduced several directories of various social organisations of Uttarakhandies in Delhi and organised hundreds of Uttarakhand’s social cultural n spiritual events n also helping the people in distress. Always filled with energy, enthusiam and zeal, Data Ram Joshi was a popular name in the Uttarakhandi circles of Delhi n Uttarakhand and was credited with serving the society to the hilt during his entire life till his sad demise. May his social rest in peace.
