Rakesh Tikaith says, we’ll tour the entire country in support of our demands,if need be, three hour Chakka Jam call ends peacefully

The Bhartiya Kisan Union chief and one of the powerful leaders of the ongoing farmers agitation Rakesh Tikaith has announced that their movement demanding scrapping of three contentious farm laws n enactment of a law on MSP will continue at the pan India level till the demands are formally met. He said that the struggling farmer leaders will tour the entire country to mobilise people n farmers to further strengthen it keeping it entirely non political. Rakesh Tikaith was addressing large number of protesting farmers n those supporting their movement at Ghazipur border. He warned the government to stop using force against the peaceful farm protestors and reiterated the farmers full faith and respect for the national flag saying that we will never tolerate anti national elements insulting our national flag in which our sons who sacrifice their lives for the nation are covered with due respect. Accusing the government of using force against the peaceful protestors Kisan leader Rakesh Tikaith said let them fix nails against us, the farmers of the country will produce grains. Castigating the govt for being anti farmer and pro capitalist he said that it has nothing to do with farmers but is caring for the crony capitalists at the expense of the ANNDAATAS.

Addressing large number of farmers at Ghazipur border on the day of CHAKKA Jam call which came to halt at three PM Rakesh Tikaith said that the farmers have been asked to carry n display their sons pictures who are serving in Army protecting our borders in the service of the nation. Tikaith said that the protesting farmers will negotiate with the government to resolve the farm issue but on equal footing and with respect.

He urged farmers to join their movement in large numbers reiterating his earlier demand that nothing less than repeal of three farm laws n enactment of new concrete law on MSP will be acceptable to them. The three hour Chakka Jam call given by farm unions for today has ended at 3 PM peacefully with few arrests at Shahidi Park, ITO Delhi by around fifty or sixty workers of left parties probably of Students Federation of India n Janwadi Mahila Samittee, carrying postcards in support of the agitating farmers raising slogans for repeal of the farm laws denouncing the NDA government. As per the news coming in there had been no Chakka Jam in Delhi, Uttarakhand and was peaceful in UP n Haryana with Chakka Jam at Sirsa Delhi national highway n several parts of Punjab.

After the massive violence in Delhi on Republic Day’s farmers tractor rally in which about five hundred policemen were injured including unfurling of a Sikh flag Nishaan Sahib at Red Fort, the Delhi police has been on extreme alert with thousands of paramilitary jawans n Delhi police personnel posted at vital border points and various locations to counter any unforseen incident if any. The farmers have also exercised tremendous restraint with Chakka Jam being quite peaceful having been called off after three PM.

Meanwhile there are news reports that the Delhi police crime branch is busy looking for the alleged culprit of 26 th January Deep Sidhu on whose head it has imposed the prize of Rs one lakh and several raids have been conducted in Punjab etc. The police has also released pictures of those involved in this violence. It may be recalled that in view of the call given of CHAKKA Jam given by the farmers union, the union home minister had held a meeting with the NSA Ajit Doval and Delhi police commissioner SN Srivastava at the parliament house complex two days ago to ensure that everything goes well and the violence of 26 th January is not repeated on 6th February.

Meanwhile there is heavy barricading and police bandobast at Tikri, Ghazipur, Loni n Singhu borders and those attending the farmers agitation are being screened adequately to ensure no reoccurance of any untoward situation. Just a day ago and earlier there had been several Mahapanchayats in Dhangli, Bagpath, Palwal,Mujaffarnagar n several parts of Western Uttar Pradesh and Haryana including at Kind where Rakesh Tikaith also participated. In all these Mahapanchayats unaccounted numbers of farmers were present extending their outright support to the ongoing farmers movement at Ghazipur urging them to reach there support BKU leader Rakesh Tikaith

The son and grand son of popular legendary Kisan leader n former prime minister Choudhary Charan Singh’s son Ajit Singh, former union minister and grandson Jayant Chowdhary, chief of Rashtriya Lok Dal having tremendous support of farmers in Western UP have already extended their unconditional open support to the ongoing farmers agitation asking their supporters to participate in the agitation at Ghazipur. Jayant Chowdhary had called the Shamli Mahapanchayat of farmers on Friday which was a massive success urging them to back the ongoing kisan agitation wholeheartedly lending quite a powerful support to Rakesh Tikaith of BKU. Today is the 73rd day of the Kisan movement.
