Rahul’s accusations on Ghulam Nabi n Kapil Sibal regarding colluding with BJP will have larger implications

The internal bickerings in the Congress party seem to have come in the open with the commencement of the Congress Working Committee meeting with the 73 year old interim president Sonia Gandhi expressing her desire to resign forthwith in view of her not so good health condition and asking the CWC to elect their new president with Rahul Gandhi having resigned earlier in May n not ready to accept the cudgels of the party in his hands accepting the moral responsibility for the party’s heavy debacle in the previous national elections.

Meanwhile two of the senior most leaders of the Congress party Ghulam Nabi Azad n Kapil Sibal have been blamed by Rahul Gandhi of colluding with the saffron party by writing a hard hitting letter to party president Sonia Gandhi especially when Congress is strongly fighting the BJP in Rajasthan n Madhya Pradeshn she is ill.

By writing open letter to party president at such a critical time, is like helping n colluding with the arch enemy BJP said Rahul. Feeling extremely insulted n hurt the 71 year old general secretary of Congress party Ghulam Nabi Azad have offered to resign from the party in protest saying provided the link with BJP is established while Priyanka Gandhi openly standing by the side of her brother has said that this action of his ( Azad) is just opposite to what he had written in the letter.

It may be recalled that over twenty three senior leaders GN Azad, Kapil Sibal, Shashi Tharoor, Anand Sharma, Veerappa Moily, Mr. Thanks etc had written a strong letter to Sonia Gandhi urging her to rejuvenate the party by appointing/ electing a full time president, electing CWC members, holding elections in all the party’s frontal organisation’s n decentralizing the elections in the party to strengthen the organisation in the states n at the centre by overhauling them etc.

Prior to this development one of the party spokesman Sanjay JHA was also suspended from the party for revealing in his tweet about a strong letter written by 100 Congressmen sent to Mrs Gandhi demanding her immediate replacement with a non Gandhi president of the party to revitalise the Congresd, strongly denied by the Gandhies n senior leaders close to Gandhi family.

Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal who had been with the Gandhi family during its thick n thin and had been the most vociferous n outspoken spokes person of Congress coming to the party’s rescue always, was also hurt by Rahul Gandhi’s remark that Azad n he, including other leaders who have written a strong letter to Sonia Gandhi have colluded with BJP, has come out openly in his defence by rebutting Rahul’s charges, tweeting : Rahul Gandhi says “,we are colluding with BJP ” Succeeding in Rajasthan High Court defending the Congress Party, Defending party in Manipur to bring down the BJP government, Last thirty years have never made a statement in favour of BJP or any issue, Yet we are colluding with the BJP ?

This hard hitting tweet in response to Rahul Gandhi’s charge on Ghulam Nabi Azad n Kapil Sibal is bound to have serious implications say political analysts .

There have been lot of confusion in the Congress after it lost the Madhya Pradesh government n a prominent young leader n general secretary Jyotiraditya Scindia, followed by the recent crisis in Rajasthan where another young Turk Sachin Pilot had revolted along with 19 of the Congress rebel MLAs.

While the crisis has ended for the time being it is believed that the scars are still visible n the rebellion may further explode any time. There have been tremendous political crisis in the party since the day Rahul Gandhi resigned n Sonia Gandhi took over despite her aging n deteriorating health. The fight between the Young n old is also in as revealed by recent developments in Raj n MP.

The party funds itself leaderless with no other suitable leader in sight except voicing of grievances n party leadership crisis on the fore. After the strong letter from senior most Congress leaders for the full time party president n change of leadership in the form of emergence of a collective leadership formula or Rahul Gandhi as an alternative citing the reason about Congress becoming weak n rudderless etc, Rahul Gandhi seems to have taken it seriously n adversely n accused Ghulam Nabi Azad n Kapil Sibal as helping n colluding with the arch enemy BJP.

Meanwhile the chief minister of Punjab, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot, Chattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel, former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh and AK Antony have openly come in favour of Sonia n Rahul Gandhi n criticized all the leaders who’ve written letter to Sonia Gandhi for leadership change n overhaul of the party organisation. They have demanded Rahul Gandhi to take over the reigns in his hand n lead it from the front as before.
