One dead n 13 seriously injured with grievous wounds when an under construction bridge collapse at Rishikesh Badrinath Road

There is yet another shocking news about a four lane bridge at Shivpuri on Rishikesh Badrinath highway number 58 near Gular collapsing, grivously injuring about fourteen labourers who were laying down its lentar ( shutteting) of 45 metre bridge, the 45 metre portion of which had already been constructed.

One labourer is reported to have died while thirteen have been seriously injured with multiple grievous wounds.

While the work of laying down of the Lanter of this bridge was in progress it suddenly collapsed with a huge bang injuring several workmen after having been buried under the heavy the rubble.

There was quite a panic at the accidental venue n in the adjoining area, with shouts n huge noise of the injured labourers crying in pain seeking help.

Messeges were immediately sent to the authorities concerned resulting in the national disaster management authority rescuers, police team from Rishikesh and Srinagar, Garhwal rushing to the spot to retrieve the injured labourers, thus rescuing all the injured labourers who was immediately ferried in ambulances and other vehicles to the district government hospital of Rishikesh as well as All India Institute of Medical Sciences. About ten injured labourers have been admitted in AIIMS while remaining in Rishikesh government hospital.

There is news of certain irregularities committed while laying down the shuttering of the four lane bridge.

Latest news reveals about one death of a grievously injured labourer.

The Uttarakhand chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has directed the chief secretary of Uttarakhand to order an urgent enquiry into the reasons behind the collapse of the four lane bridge being constructed on National Highway 58 at Shivpuri near Gular and ensure best treatment to the injured labourers.

According to the Assistant Engineer of Rishikesh Badrinath Highway 58 Mritunjay Sharma, the 45 metre half portion of this bridge had been already constructed and the work of the shuttering of the remaining half portion was being executed but it all of a sudden collapsed, grievously injuring fourteen labourers including a dead victim due to deep wounds.

This bridge measures 90 metres and half of its shuttering had been already constructed with the shuttering of 45 metre bridge being undertaken.

The construction work of this bridge was being executed by Shyam Construction Company.

The enquiry has been ordered to ascertain the reason behind the collapse of this bridge with the concerned contractor under question and the investigating team having reached the spot.

The EE of the project Dinesh Bijlewan n the entire team was conspicuous by its absence with no body responding to the queries of the media keeping their mobile phones deliberately off to avoid the tough questions of the media and their bosses.

According to sources there seems to be a high level corruption in the entire construction resulting in falling down of the 45 metre portion of the 90 metre bridge severely injuring fourteen labourers including one dead till writing of this news.

This collapsed bridge is under the jurisdiction of the highly ambitious all whether Road Project of Ministry of NHAI.

There is allegedly every possibility of using of the substandard material in the construction of this 90 metre bridge say angered n infuriated general public.
