The chairperson of National Commission for Women Rekha Sharma has taken a suo moto cognizance to the threat given to prominent Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut by a Shiv Sena MLA namely Pratap Shamrik saying that if she comes to Mumbai on 9th September she will be taught a strong lesson by physically thrashing her and legs broken.

Talking to media, the Chairperson of National Commission for Women Rekha Sharma said that the Commission has taking suo motto cognizance by writing to the DGP Maharashtra to immediately arrest the Shiv Sena MLA who is dangerous for the society and the women community.

Speaking to ANI Rekha Sharma said : I got the information that Pratap Shramik, who is the MLA from Shiv Sena , has threatened Kangana Ranaut and said that she will be beaten n her legs will be broken if she enters Mumbai.

These are highly objectionable statements. I will take suo motto and am writing to the DGP Maharashtra to immediately arrest this person who is dangerous for the society n has given threat to a woman. In a tweet the NCW said : NCW has taken cognizance of the threats given to @Kangana Team by MLA@Pratap Shrarnaik. Commission has taken serious note of the hatred spread against a woman by people in responsible position. CHAIRPERSON@ sharmarekha has written to @DGPMaharashtra for strict action against MLA .

It may be recalled that the Shiv Sena’s outspoken leader Sanjay Raut had given a statement in “Saamna” newspaper, a mouth piece of Shiv Sena that Kangana Ranaut need not to come to Mumbai as she had been opposing the Mumbai police and the government of not initiating credible investigations in Sushant Singh Rajput’s mysterious death to bring the real culprits to legal book.

The statement of Sanjay Raut enraged vociferous Kangana Ranaut who in fury tweeted equating Mumbai ruled by them with the Pakistan occupied Kashmir further enraging the Mumbaikars, Shiv Sainiks and several MLAs n ministers including actresses like Renuka Shane n others opposing her tooth n nail through several tweets.

Even the Maharashtra Home minister Anil Deshmukh condemned her anti Mumbai n anti Maharashtra attitude n tweets equating Mumbai with POK promising to lodge a complaint of sedition against her with several Shiv Sena MLAs also demanding sedition charges against Ranaut.

In response to Sanjay Raut’s alleged threat prohibiting her to come to Mumbai Kangana tweeted again saying that she is coming to Mumbai on 9th from Himachal Pradesh by air n would see who dares to stop her. She is currently living in Manali, HP.

This enraged several Shiv Sena n NCP leaders n workers who allegedly threatened her with dire consequences especially Shiv Sena MLA Pratap Samrik. He threatened her to beat her with slippers n break her legs in case she really dares to enter Mumbai. Even her gratiffies in Mumbai were slapped with slippers by Shiv Sena supporters alleged Kangana Ranaut.
