Hundreds of Congress workers court arrest in Dehradun, Munna Singh says it’s a Congress conspiracy to destabilise BJP govt in Uttarakhand

Senior Congress leaders, regional leaders and hundreds of workers of Uttarakhand today courted arrests in front of Raj Bhawan at Dehradun after trying to break the police barricades raising slogans demanding the resignation of the Uttarakhand chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat allegedly accusing him of corruption after the directives of a single judge bench of Uttarakhand High Court to CBI to enquire the allegations of a journalist Umesh Sharma. However, the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat got reprieve from the supreme court’s three judge bench for at least four weeks as the Nainital high court has been stayed today.

Thousands of Congress workers jointly led by the former Uttarakhand CM n national general secretary of Congress Harish Rawat, the central party observer Devendra Yadav, state Congress president Pritam Singh n several state leaders today started from party headquarter and marched raising slogans demanding resignation of the chief minister on moral grounds for the impartial conduction of CBI enquiry accusing him for being complicit in alleged corruption. On reaching the governor’s house they tried to break the heavy police cordon n barricades after a scuffle between Congress workers and the police finally being arrested in large number.

The senior leaders of Congress accused the governor of not giving them appointment deliberately to air their views n submit the memorandum democratically despite their asking for the appointment in advance unambiguously giving an impression about ditching them of their basic constitutional right to be heard. The massive crowd in today’s protest demonstration at such a short notice unambiguously gives an indication of numbered days of the incumbent CM Trivendra Singh Rawat despite having got a month’s reprieve from the honourable supreme court today.

The state assembly elections are round the corner in the in total months of 2023 with hardly a year left n few months left with the saffron party facing tremendous opposition in the hilly state on issues like unemployment n corruption etc. Meanwhile the BJP Uttarakhand’s spokesperson Munna Singh Chouhan has today while addressing a press conference accused the Congress of clandestinely hobnobbing n conspiring with journo Umesh Kumar to pre meditatedly destabilise the BJP by falsely trying to implicate the CM in corruption charges on false, biased and fabricated grounds as the Congress leaders n senior advocate Kapil Sibal is representing Umesh Sharma who had done sting against Harish Rawat while he was CM n has been jailed earlier in several cases. He added that the Congress has been infuriated because the CM Rawat had hit at the root of corruption in the state giving no opportunities to power brokers n corruptors allegedly patronising them during their rule. Munna Singh Chouhan added : by hatching a conspiracy in league with Umesh Sharma the Congress has done a malicious politically vidictive act against Trivendra Singh Rawat.

Hearing the petition of the CM of Uttarakhand the supreme court three judge bench have issued notice to the respondents n stayed the High Court decision of CBI enquiry for at least four weeks till the next hearing is initiated say the latest news.

In a tweet today Uttarakhand Congress in-charge Devendra Yadav tweeted : The corrupt CM n the corrupt government will not be able to forcibly push the Congress workers who had come on the ground for fighting them in wider public interest. We are prepared, People are prepared, There will be a change now. With hashtag he demanded Trivendra Rawat resign !
