Heated speeches in RS. Who is Deshpremi Arnab or struggling farmers, questions Sanjay Raut

In Rajya Sabha on Friday there have been speeches of accusations and counter accusations with Shiv Sena’s Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Raut and Congress’s MP Anand Sharma using their full oratorical skills to attack the ruling BJP asking the treasury members to figure out as to who is the real nationalist ( Deshbhakt) the agitating farmers or the Republic TV editor in chief Arnab Goswami because of whom an innocent businessman has to commit suicide n die and Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut.

On Friday morning when the discussion in response to the president’s speech commenced with regard to the agitating farmers fighting for revocation of three contentious agricultural laws with intent literateur turned deputy chairman of RS Harivansh Narayan Singh on the chair, there were heated arguments between the Congress members Anand Sharma, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on one side and union agriculture minister Narendra Tomar on other side accusing each other on farmers issue. Shiv Sena Rajya member of parliament Sanjay Ranaut said the farmers who struggle for their rights are labelled as khalistanies or terrorists asking them as to who are patriotic, Arnab Goswami and Kangana Ranaut ? Pointing towards the treasury benches Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut said it’s shameful that they are being protected by you.

He further accused the ruling party saying that Sidhu who is the real culprit behind the Red Fort episode, has not been arrested till yet but about two hundred farmers are behind bars at Tihar Jail with court cases of Sedition. They have been projected as anti nationals but Arnab Goswami because of whom an innocent man in Maharashtra was compelled to commit suicide is a Deshpremi, ( nationalist) said Sanjay Raut.

He added, similarly Kangana Ranaut is a nationalist. Rajya Sabha MP Anand Sharma of Congress said the govt is patting itself for the achievements regarding countering pandemic but there is no mention about thousands of construction workers/ migrant labours plight during lockdown especially about hundreds of those who succumbed during this pandemic troubled days. He added on the one side the movement of farmers is continuing and on the other the ruling party government is busy praising itself. This is the govt’s complete insensitivity he said.

The union agriculture minister Narendra Tomar while smilingly responding to the serious charges of Anand Sharma while skipping Shiv Sena MP’s Sanjay Raut’s charges saying that he had been trying hard to know as to what is black in the three agricultural laws during the last two months while holding meetings with farmer leaders, could not find anything black referring to the charges of the agriculture bills being called black laws by the opposition parties n agitating farmers. He further castigated the Congress that the farming is done through water not through blood but it is the Congress party which does farming by blood not the BJP inviting protests from Congress MPs. Agriculture minister earlier while responding to president’s address said that the farmers are being misled and countrymen misinformed about three agriculture bills which guarantee to double the farmers income and enhance GDP.

The Rajya Sabha chairman expressed his anguish that the level of debate as stooped so law that the people who see the MPs as their role models are bogged down morally and the image of the lawmakers gets denigrated in their eyes. The heated debate lasted for three hours.

Meanwhile while posting a link of his speech in parliament Anand Sharma has tweeted in Hindi: India is a democracy and it is neither necessary nor acceptable to have similar views/ unanimity in every issue always. Our traditions have been of ideology and communication. My speech in Rajya Sabha tweeted Congress leader n MP Rajya Sabha.
