Founder of Uttarakhand Films’ Association SPS Negi succumbs to dreaded Covid 19
The regional film fraternity of Uttarakhand especially Garhwali artists have lost their mentor and true friend namely SPS Negi. The anguishing tragic death of the founder of Uttarakhand Film Association SPS Negi has literally shaken the regional film fraternity of Garhwal n Uttarakhand. Negi died of Corona after retirement from ONGC, sending shock waves in the entire artistic fraternity of the hill state.
A founder of regional film Association, energetic n enthusiastic friend, always dedicated towards strengthening Uttarakhand Film Association in order to pursue his sole aim to establish a full fledged film City in Uttarakhand and making of a concrete regional film policy in order to promote and preserve Garhwali, Kumaoni and Jaunsari languages as well as Uttarakhand’s healthy cultural traditions, film songs, music and dances etc, SPS Negi was fully devoted to financially and otherwise help the artists in distress.
According to a renowned poet n writer of Uttarakhand Madan Duklan SPS Negi was a man with dedication, devotion, sincerely and commitment always longing to pressurise the successive chief ministers of Uttarakhand to formulate a concrete film policy to enable making of good regional films, a full fledged film City and sufficient allocation of funds for film making to its producers, directors n artistes includung ameliorating the artists’ grievances.
His basic and foremost aim was to formulate a regional film policy in order to avoid the exploitation of regional film actors and implementation of several welfare schemes etc.
He used to financially help the aggrieved families of actors who died at young age , from his own pocket and would encourage budding artists as well, in all respects.
In the tragic n untimely demise of the founder president of S P S Negi, Uttarakhand film Association and the regional film fraternity has lost its mentor, a true friend, God father and friend of friends.
May the Almighty render peace to his soul and enough strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss. His passing away has left a huge void in Uttarakhand film industry difficult to be filled said Madan Duklan.
