Former Ukhand deputy speaker n MLA Ansuiya Maikhuri dies of Corona

There is yet another sad news. A popular former lawmaker loved by his electorates has succumbed to dreaded Covid 19.

The former member of legislative assembly from Karnaprayag and Badrinath legislative constituencies in Garhwal, Uttarakhand breathed his last after having been admitted in Max hospital for Corona a month and a half ago.

Former deputy speaker in the Uttarakhand assembly, Ansuiya Prasad Maikhuri was a soft spoken and affable politician, quite popular in his constituency, always coming to the rescue of his electorates, having played quite an important role in the rehabiitation of the distressed families of the ecological disaster victims of June 2013 as well.

According to the spokesperson of Congress Garima Dasauni, Congress MLA Ansuiya Prasad Maikhuri breathed his last due to Covid 19.

He was the deputy speaker of Uttarakhand Assembly after being elected as lawmaker from Badrinath Kedarnath in 2012.

The Congress Party of Uttarakhand is anguished to learn about the sad demise of Mr. Maikhuri who was a committed n dedicated Congressman.

Maikhuri was a two term MLA from 2002 to 2007 and from 2012 to 2017 on Congress ticket.

From 2012 to 2017 he was MLA from Karnaprayag while from Badrinath Kedarnath from 2002 to 2007.

The Congress Party organised a condolence meeting at Rajiv Bhawan to pay their respectful tributes to the senior Congress leader n MLA attended by the Uttarakhand Congress president Pritam Singh, Vice president Surya Kant Dhasmana, former MLA Heera Singh Bisht, Rajkumar, Genl secy Rajendra Shah, Vijay Saraswat, Vijay Pal Sajwan n several others.

Maikhuri’s sad n untimely demise has sent shock waves in Badrinath Kedarnath n Karnaprayag assembly constituencies n Uttarakhand as he was a lawmaker highly respected and adored.
