The former president of India Pranab Mukherjee has tested positive for Covid today after he had gone to a hospital for some other treatment. During treatment he was tested for Covid 19 as well as a precautionary measure but was detected positive for Corona virus disease. The former president Pranab Mukherjee himself informed about this news by tweeting on his Twitter handle. He tweeted : On a visit to hospital for a separate procedure, I have tested positive for Covid 19 today. I request the people who came in contact with me in the last week, to please self isolate and get tested for Covid 19 # CitizenMukherjee.
The union home minister Amit Shah had also been infected with Corona virus n is currently undergoing treatment in super speciality Medanta hospital in Gurugram owned by Mr. TREHAN A SENIOR CARDIOLOGIST N CARDIAC SURGEON. Former president has been admitted to Army’s Research n Referred hospital, New Delhi. Majority of the politicians right from president to prime minister to central ministers n chief ministers have wished Pranab Mukherjee all the very best praying for his speedy recovery including leaders of the opposition.
Prior to Ramnath Kovind, present president becoming the president Pranab Mukherjee was the president for full term from 2012 to 2017 and union minister in Congress governments’ from the era of Indira Gandhi to Dr. Manmohan Singh, as India’s finance minister as well.
