Enraged residents of Chowbattakhal, Garhwal protest against an alleged rape attempt on a village girl
Extremely enraged and infuriated after an alleged attempt of rape by some anti social elements on a college going girl in Dharasu village in Chaubattakhal area in Pauri Garhwal district four days ago, also injuring her, a large number of village residents of this area today held a protest demonstrations raising anti police n administration slogans demanding immediate arrest of the culprits and giving them stringent punishment.
The anguished parents of the girl have demanded due justice to them. The culprits tried to allegedly sexually assault the girl and when she resisted their obnoxious attempt to rape her she was hit by a stone injuring her grievously.
The highly angered n enraged residents of Choubattakhal area of Pauri Garhwal which is the constituency of the Tourism minister of Uttarakhand have condemned this obnoxious n shameful incident and blamed the police for their complete inefficiency n negligence in failing to arrest the culprits despite passing of four days n mounting disenchantment among the local residents as well as Congress n AAP whose leaders are allegedly demanding the resignation of the area MLA who is a cabinet minister n had not provided the anguished parents any relief till yet, as the culprits are still at large.
The injured girl of Dharasu village was returning back to her house at Dharasu village when she was confronted by some culprits on October 21, who forcibly tried to resist the attempts to molest her.
She was hit by a stone by the culprit injuring her on her head. The highly terrorised girl n her parents are afraid that the criminals may further harm them and are demanding immediate justice so that this crime is not repeated with any other girl of the area.
This incident occured on 21st October. The protesters are on dharna outside the Tehsildar office demanding the arrest of the culprits and trying them through fast track court proceedings under stringent acts of attempt to rape and murder.
The protestors have blammed the revenue n regular police of negligence and lackadisical attitude boosting the morale of criminals in peaceful Choubattakhal area of Pauri Garhwal.
Several political leaders n mediamen are visiting Dharasu village to boost the morale of the anguished girl n the parents. After the incidents she was admitted at Kotdwar hospital.
