Despite 50 farmers dying, not a word of consolation, Sonia Gandhi hits at the government

A day after a farmer committed suicide, the Congress president Sonia Gandhi came down heavily on the BJP led NDA government, prime minister Narendra Modi and its ministers for not uttering a single word of consolation despite several farmers’ deaths with some committing suicides, during the ongoing agitation in support of their demands at various borders points, leading to Delhi and elsewhere, confronting inclement chilly cold weather and rains.

In a vedio address, Congress president Sonia Gandhi while expressing her disgust over the anti farmers attitude and arrogance of the government and extending her emotional solidarity with the agitating farmers said that the central government’s stand tentamounts to its arrogance towards the farmers of the country after coming to power, let alone the citizens.

Expressing her anguish over the increasing deaths of agitating farmers due to the government’s obstinate and arrogant attitude, Sonia Gandhi said that till date about fifty farmers have given up their lives due to the arrogant attitude of the government with some of them committing suicides. But despite this huge tragedy neither the prime minister nor any minister has relented and issued a word of consolation.

While extending my deepest condolences to the bereaved families of the deceased farmers , I pray to Almighty to render peace to the departed souls and strength to the aggrieved families to bear this irreparable loss added Sonia Gandhi.

While demanding the immediate repeal of all the three agricultural laws and giving a full stop to the ongoing agitation of the farmers in support of their just demands who are struggling hard for the last 39 days in chilly cold inclement weather Sonia Gandhi urged the NDA government to accept all their demands in order to pay the true tributes to those who’d sacrificed their precious lives during this movement.

Criticising the NDA government, Sonia Gandhi said ever since the independence this is the first arrogant government to have come to power that doesn’t care for the farmers who feed us, let alone the citizens. It is crystal clear evident that the government is trying to tire and drive farmers away policy in order to compel them surrender before the government she added.

The government and the leaders who disregard the expectations of the people in democracy do not last long, Congress president Sonia Gandhi added.

Charging the government of standing in support of the crony capitalists n capitalism Congress president Sonia Gandhi said, this is the first government coming to power after attaining independence who’s not able to see the relentless struggle and pain of the agitating ANNDAATAAS who fill our bellies ( feed us) not to talk of the common people.

She concluded saying , Modi government should remember that real meaning of Democracy is to protect the interests of the people, farmers and working class of the country.

Meanwhile in another tweet the chief spokesman of AICC Randeep Singh Surjewala tweeted posting a picture of a deceased farmer writing : One more sacrifice of a farmer. Kuldeep Singh died in Gangana in district Sonipat, Haryana. The son of the soil braving acute cold waves becomes the victim of the proudy rulers sitting in Delhi and Chandigarh. You can take as much as lives you want, but repeal the black agricultural laws tweeted Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala.
