Delhi in a terrible situation with a single day Covid 19 mortalities reaching 131 numbers breaking the record of 13 Nov of 104 deaths

While the central and the Delhi governments are making joint efforts to counter the dreaded pandemic in the capital on the rise, reaching nearly massive five lakh numbers, assuring Delhites of enhancement in daily testings and the ICU beds etc holding several rounds of meetings with various agencies, there are no signs of the infections receding.

What’s extremely worrisome is the fact that the Covid 19 fatalities too have spiked rapidly, sending threatening signals among the Delhi citizens.

The yesterday’s single day mortalities have crossed all previous numbers with 131 fatalities with majority of the dead’s being the cormorbidity patients.

According to the Delhi government’s Wednesday health bulletin, the average spike in cases have reached to 7,486 numbers.

The death of 131 Covid 19 patients in a day have broken the November 12 record of one day 104 Covid 19 deaths, which means that the proportion of fatalities among the Covid 19 infected patients reaching to 2.12%.

According to the Delhi government bulletin, till yesterday evening the total tally of Covid 19 cases have reached to 503,084 numbers with nearly sixty four thousand rapid anti gen and RTPCR tests done in a day detecting the infection rate at 12.3%.

The Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejrival and the health minister Satyendra Jain had inspected the Gurutegh Bahadur Covid 19 Hospital assuring the Delhites that in view of the terrible surge in the Covid 19 cases and subsequent fatalities, the Delhi government hospitals will add 663 ICU beds to the present capacity of 3,600 beds. He also assured that about ICU 230 beds will be added to Guru Tegh Bahadur hospital.

The Intensive Care Units beds are in more demands in view of the rapid spike in Covid 19 cases, especially with the onset of the winters and festivals including the enhanced level of pollution which has added to the numbers of the pandemic cases.

It may be recalled that the union home minister Amit Shah had three days ago convened the high level meeting with the union health minister Dr. Harshvardhan, Delhi LG Anil Baijal and Chief minister Arvind Kejrival in which the officials of Delhi Disaster management authority and the AIIMS director Randheer Singh Gulleria had also participated.

The union minister has assured of enhancing around six hundred of more ICU beds in Delhi with 250 beds at DRDO hospital in Dhaula Kuan.

The chief minister Arvind Kejrival had commended and thanked the union home minister for his generosity. There have been daily press conferences of Delhi CM and Health minister Delhi with assurances of countering the Covid 19 pandemic but the situation seems to have gone out of control with the health minister Satyendra Jain agreeing earlier about the Delhi having gone in the community spread mode. Yesterday’s 131 Covid 19 fatalities have infact convinced the Delhites bringing them in apprehensive mode that all is not well in the capital city despite the union government and Delhi government functioning from here.

If the situation continues in the current critical mode there would be no concrete way-out except going on a lockdown precautionary mode again say certain health experts with the chief minister Arvind Kejrival flatly refusing to do so saying that revival of the economy is utmostly essential as people will have to learn to live with the pandemic exercising maximum precautions n anti Covid regulations to get rid of this dreaded pandemic. Now the countrymen are only banking on the early availability of the anti Covid vaccine with two out of five vaccines in the final n third human trials stage giving an optimism of its appearence within few months from now having shown 94.5 results of accuracy of Covid 19 cure.

Meanwhile politics have peeped in in Coronavirus with the BJP n AAP allegedly trying to derive maximum political mileage out of the critical situation with BJP leaders of Delhi allegedly putting up posters of patting their party of its invaluable contribution in countering the pandemic in the capital with the AAP’s national spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj addressing a press conference yesterday blaming the BJP leaders n government of not complying to its assurance of providing 250 beds in the initial stage to DRDO hospital out of total 750 ICU beds till yet and also accusing the Haryana n UP government’s being ruled by the saffron party of not providing adiquate health services to Covid 19 patients in their states allegedly compelling them to seek treatment in Delhi hospitals. He catagorically said that out of the total Covid nineteen cases in Delhi fifty percent are from the neighbouring states. However the government of Haryana’s CM side had denied these allegations as false saying that majority of the cases ( 40%) are from four NCR alone. But despite all this what is extremely bothering the Delhites is that out of the single day mortalities about sixty to seventy percent patient met the sad end within three days of their being admitted or infected with the dreaded disease reveal health sources.
