Delhi Government, in alliance with WhatsApp India, has launched a helpline number that will provide credible and accurate information. This step has been taken to keep the citizens updated and away from rumors. In order to access the helpline number, you have to save the number +91 88000 07722 in your contacts and send “Hi.” The automated chatbot service will answer the necessary questions. All the answers will be updated through the data provided by the Health & Family Welfare Department of Government of NCT of Delhi.
This initiative has been taken to urge people to rely solely on official records and information. In a statement, the Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal, stated that they are happy to become a partner with WhatsApp India to create a dedicated coronavirus helpline number. The state is combating this epidemic like a warrior. Delhi Government is currently focusing on fulfilling the needs of the hungry stomachs and cutting out the flow of rumors.
As of now, the messages are in the English language only. The task has been done using the Whats App Business API, using Infobip India. The national capital is under complete lock down for 21 days after the declaration by PM Modi on 22nd March. The numbers are increasing rapidly in Delhi and other parts of the country. So, it is necessary to spread and rely upon correct information only.
