Delhi CM Kejrival appeals to central govt to pay salaries of striking doctors

The Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejrival today appealed to the central government to release a part of the twelve thousand crore rupees allegedly due on it for MCD inorder to pay them the salaries as the protesting doctors are the front line Corona warriors who need to be honoured rather than putting them in financial jeopardy by not paying their salaries, compelling them to protest n sit on Dharnas.

He disclosed that the Delhi government had already paid more than the expected budget to MCD and rather the MCD had to pay the Delhi government the loan money given to it amounting to Rs. 3800 crores plus Rs 3000 crores to Delhi Jal Board.

Commending the services of the MCD doctors’ for selflessly serving the patients of Covid 19 during the pandemic critical times, Kejrival said that instead of honouring them they are being compelled to sit on strike demanding salaries for which his heart goes to them.

Delhi chief minister Kejrival was today addressing the audience at a Delhi government function organised to inaugurate a Power plant generating “Bijli” from the waste material. About three mayor’s had protested in front of his residence in Delhi demanding salaries to the protesting doctors of MCD hospitals.

Feeling extremely sorry for not paying the striking doctors their salaries, Arvind Kejrival said that the central government is paying budget to all the municipalities of the country at the rate of Rs 545 per person but it is really shocking that the three municipal corporations are not being paid their salaries by the central government the budget of 12000 crores due since the last ten years as per the calculation done by the Delhi government.

Chief minister Arvind Kejrival said had his government having the money he would have paid the salaries of the doctors as they are considered as God for patients.

He questioned as to why the central government is not paying funds to Delhi MCDs, whereas all the municipalities of the country are being paid their due. Where is the budget of MCD going he asked ?

Accusing the MCD of alleged corruption, Arvind Kejrival said that a flyover of Rani Jhansi Road which was to be constructed in 2008 was constructed in 2020 after the massive delay of 12 years causing the collosal loss to the government of Rs more than 500 crores which is the tax payers money where as the AAP government of Delhi has completed its Shastri Seelampur flyover in just one n a half year thus saving Rs fifty three crores.

He appealed to the central government to kindly release a part of the 12000 crore budget to MCD which is their justifiable share so that they can give salaries to the protesting doctors of MCD.

Meanwhile Arvind Kejrival today tweeted : MCD should put its house in order n immediately pay the pending salaries of all the doctors. Central government should immediately release all the funds due to MCD to the tune of Rs. 12000 crores.
