Chief minister of Uttarakhand TS Rawat is Covid 19 positive.

The chief minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat has tested positive for Covid 19 on Friday, the information of which was given by him through a tweet saying : I got myself tested today and was confirmed positive. My health is alright and there are no symptoms as well. Therefore would be on home isolation on the advise of doctors. I request all those who have been in my contact during the last few days. Please isolate yourself and also get tested for Covid 19 tweeted Uttarakhand chief minister.

The national BJP chief Jai Prakash Nadda who had been on a political tour of Uttarakhand a week ago followed by his Bengal tour was also tested positive for Covid 19 and is in home isolation. The chief minister of Uttarakhand and several of his cabinet colleagues n party leaders had also been in his proximity during his various engagements in Dehradun. Apart from this just a week ago the health secretary of Uttarakhand Amit Negi and Amrita Upreti, director general of Health department had tested Covid 19 positive. During the prevailing pandemic the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat had been holding several high level meetings with the senior health officials and bureaucrats of other departments including meetings with political leaders, lawmakers, ministers n workers etc. The OSD to the chief minister and three of his official staff had also tested positive for Covid 19 with a fatality of a senior official in his staff. The chief minister had been earlier in home isolation as well on August 16 after three of his staff members had tested Covid and earlier on June 1 after his cabinet minister Satpal Maharaj was tested positive including his wife and good number of followers and son n daughter in law etc. It may be recalled that currently there are 84 thousand Covid 19 cases in Uttarakhand with 1384 pandemic fatalities with Dehradun having 25,012 cases and Haridwar 12905 with Udham Singh Nagar 10787 cases of Covid 19.
