Several lawmakers of AAM ADMI PARTY have been arrested by Delhi police today for violating the prohibitory and Covid 19 orders as they wanted to protest outside the residences of Delhi’s Lt governor Anil Baijal and union home minister Amit Shah to register their protest and highlight their demand regarding institution of Central bureau of investigation inquiry into the alleged embezzlement of funds of Rs 2500 crores by the North MCD. Before being arrested Atishi was peacefully protesting holding a placard in her hands alongwith AAP councillors which read : North MCD mein 2500 crore ke ghotaale ke doshiyon KO jail bhejo. ( SEND THE DEFAULTERS OF RS 2500 CRORE SCAM OF NORTH MCD TO JAIL)
While lawmakers of AAP viz Ritu Raj, Raghav Chadha, Kuldeep Kumar and Sanjeev were arrested for staging protest dharna out the union home minister Amit Shah’s house another lawmaker of AAP Atishi was arrested from outside the Lt governor’s house for staging dharna cum protest alongwith AAP councillors, demanding CBI enquiry into the alleged embezzlement of funds of Rs. 2500 crores by the MCD. AAP MLA Atishi was literally picked up forcibly by the policemen and arrested.
Registering her strong protest over her arrest terming it as arbitrary, Atishi said that instead of ordering the CBI enquiry into the embezzlement of funds I was arrested forcibly.
In a tweet Atishi wrote : I went to meet the Lt governor with Aam Admi Party Councillors to ask him to order CBI enquiry into the Rs 2500 crores scam in North Delhi MCD.
Instead of meeting us the Lt governor got Delhi police to detain us. She further asked : Who is Lt governor protecting. Why does he not want to order a CBI enquiry , questioned Atishi, AAP MLA ?
Similarly in another tweet the AAM Admi Party has while protesting on the arrest of its four MLAs said that the union home minister Amit Shah can arrest us n put in jail but can’t suppress our will. The party said that its MLAs have been arrested for peacefully protesting, demanding CBI enquiry into the misapropriation of MCD funds to the tune of Rs. 2457 crores ruled by BJP.
It may be recalled that the AAP MLA Atishi Bharadwaj has recently held a press conference accusing the North MCD of allegedly embezzling the fund of Rs 2500 crores demanding institution of CBI enquiry into this alleged corruption. The three mayor’s of MCD had also staged a Dharma outside the residence of Delhi CM Arvind Kejrival demanding release of MCD funds and accusing him of deliberately blocking money resulting in non payment of salaries to the MCD controlled hospitals’ doctors.
On the contrary the Delhi CM had accused that the MCD owe hundreds of crores to Delhi government and the centre is blocking the state govt’s money deliberately. There were also charges against Delhi BJP of allegedly vandalizing on Delhi CM’s residence.
