Star actors Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul proceeded to get hitched at Suniel Shetty’s farmhouse situated in Khandala. Just on Monday, the couple went ahead and uploaded matching posts sharing the happy news and captioning “In your light, I learn how to love.”
Athiya had gone ahead and chosen a chikankari lehenga which was in a pastel shade of pink, designed by Anamika Khanna for the ceremony, while KL Rahul played to the strengths of her style by going for an Ivory coloured embroidered sherwani by the same designer. Talking about the lehenga itself, it’s a one-off original by Anamika Khanna, which is handmade and handwoven with silk as the base, along with Jali and Zardozi embroidery. It also includes a Silk dupatta and veil, which is also intricately embroidered. Anamika Khanna revealed in an interview with Vogue that the lehenga itself took almost 10,000 hours to create.
Anamika Khanna had also talked about her inspiration behind the creation of this one particular lehenga. She said in an interview that Athiya is known to have refined, subtle and beautiful tastes. She wanted to create a lehenga that was unique to her personality and also went hand in hand with the fact that she was the bride, but not the kind of bride for whom everyone else takes over. To conclude, she had said that Athiya has a very strong personality, which she is fully aware of and completely embodies.
